A spacer pad of some kind (we recommend a whitepad) is necessary to prevent damage to the pad driver or the flooring surface. The white pad serves to hold the sand screen securely in place while you work, and also not allow damage to the floor. Some loading of the screens will occur, so rinsing them out and flipping them over can extend their longevity.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSanding screens resemble small sheets of sandpaper with a grid-like texture. They are available in various grit levels, starting from 60 grit (the most aggressive) and going up to 150 grit (considered ultra-fine).
