The Aquascape BioBalls Filter Media Net is a purpose-designed mesh bag for organising and containing BioBalls biological filter media within a pond filter chamber, biological waterfall filter, or media basket. The mesh construction allows unrestricted water and oxygen flow through the contained BioBalls while keeping them consolidated in one location for easy removal and rinsing during filter maintenance.

Easier Filter Maintenance With Contained Media

Loose BioBalls scattered throughout a filter chamber are difficult to remove and clean without disturbing the surrounding filter materials. Placing them in a media net creates a contained module that can be lifted out as a single unit, rinsed in pond water to remove accumulated sludge, and returned in seconds. This approach preserves the beneficial bacteria colony during cleaning by minimising disruption compared to individual ball-by-ball handling.

How to Use

Fill the media net with the required quantity of BioBalls and tie or clip the net closed. Place the filled net into the filter chamber in the biological filtration zone. Ensure water flows through the net rather than bypassing it. To clean, lift the net from the filter, carry it to a bucket of pond water, and swish gently to dislodge accumulated sludge without destroying the bacteria colony. Do not rinse BioBalls in tap water. Return the net to the filter immediately after cleaning.
