Cost-Effective Predator Protection for Multiple Installations

Herons strike most frequently at dawn, often cleaning out a pond in a single visit before sunrise. A properly anchored pond net is the most reliable physical deterrent available to pond owners in heron territory. The 10 ft x 100 ft roll cuts to fit a range of pond sizes and shapes, and the fine mesh is safe for fish that occasionally swim against the surface, as it does not entangle fins or gill plates.

How to Use

Cut the required length from the roll with scissors or a utility knife. Stretch the netting over the pond surface with a minimum 30 cm (12 in) overhang on all sides. Secure the perimeter with pond net pegs, tent stakes, or heavy stones at 30 to 60 cm (12 to 24 in) intervals to prevent predators from lifting the edge. For ponds with aquatic plants extending to the surface, use net support hoops to hold the netting above the plants. Remove and store the netting before the winter freeze if ice formation risks tearing the material.

Ideal for smaller backyard koi and goldfish ponds up to approximately 9 m² (100 sq ft) in areas with active heron or raccoon pressure, and for covering multiple small container ponds simultaneously.
