Achieve Stronger EPDM Tape Bonds Even in Damp Conditions

Aquascape EPDM Tape Primer Plus (946 mL / 1 qt) is an improved-formula contact adhesive primer for EPDM pond liner surfaces that delivers enhanced bond strength compared to the standard Tape Primer, particularly in demanding conditions such as low temperatures, elevated humidity, and liner surfaces with limited remaining surface energy from extended UV exposure. It is the recommended primer for repair work and cold-weather seaming applications.

Enhanced Performance for Challenging Seaming Conditions

Field seaming conditions are rarely ideal: temperature may be marginal for standard primer curing, the liner may have been in the ground for years and have reduced surface receptivity, or weather conditions may introduce moisture between preparation and tape application. Tape Primer Plus is formulated to maintain adequate tack and bond initiation under these conditions, reducing the risk of seam failure from environment-induced adhesion deficiencies.

How to Use

Clean the EPDM surface with EPDM Surface Prep and allow to dry before applying Tape Primer Plus. Apply a thin, even coat to both surfaces with a brush or roller. Allow the primer to become tacky, approximately 10 to 20 minutes at 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), or longer at lower temperatures. Apply the seam tape while the primer is still tacky. In temperatures below 10°C (50°F), allow additional tack development time and warm the tape roll briefly in a pocket to improve adhesive flow before application.

Ideal for EPDM pond liner seaming and repair in spring and autumn conditions when temperatures are below 15°C (60°F), and for any seam on liner that has been installed for multiple years and may have reduced surface energy.
