The Aquascape Recreational Pond Kit (9 ft x 20 ft / 2.7 m x 6.1 m) is a complete, everything-included package for building a natural recreational pond or swim pond. It combines Aquascape's proven water garden construction components with the filtration capacity needed to maintain clean, swimmable water using natural processes rather than chemicals.

Natural Filtration for a Swimming Pond

A recreational pond uses biological and mechanical filtration instead of chlorine or salt systems to maintain water quality. The kit provides the liner, underlayment, skimmer, biological filter, pump, and connecting hardware to build a self-sustaining water feature large enough for wading and casual swimming. Aquatic plants play a key role in the system's biological balance; a regeneration zone planted with water iris, rushes, or marginals filters the water naturally as it passes through the root zone.

How to Use

Mark and excavate the pond area to the planned shape, with a shallow plant zone (30 cm / 12 in deep) and a swimming zone (90 to 120 cm / 36 to 48 in deep). Install the underlayment and liner before placing the skimmer and biological filter at opposite ends of the pond. Connect the pump, run tubing per the included installation guide, and fill slowly while adjusting the liner. Establish aquatic plants in the shallow regeneration zone once filling is complete. Allow the system to cycle biologically for four to six weeks before swimming.
