Replacement Weir Plate for the Signature Series 6.0 Pond Skimmer

The Aquascape Signature Series 6.0 Pond Skimmer Weir Plate is the factory-specification replacement weir plate for the Signature Series 6.0 skimmer. The weir plate is the adjustable panel inside the skimmer that sets the water level at which surface debris enters the skimmer chamber. A cracked or warped weir plate prevents proper adjustment, either causing the skimmer to pull water too aggressively or failing to skim the surface at all.

Set the Right Surface Pull for Effective Debris Collection

The weir operates by maintaining a precise elevation difference between the pond water surface and the skimmer intake, which creates the surface current that sweeps floating debris through the weir opening. A damaged weir plate distorts this relationship. The Signature Series 6.0 weir plate is sized specifically for the 6.0 skimmer's wider opening and higher flow capacity; it is not interchangeable with the weir plates from smaller Signature Series models.

How to Use

Open the skimmer lid and remove the existing damaged weir plate by unscrewing the thumb screws and sliding the plate free from the adjustment slot. Insert the new weir plate into the slot at the approximate desired water level. Fill the pond to within 5 cm (2 in) of the intended finished water level, then adjust the weir plate up or down until the skimmer draws a gentle, steady surface current without creating a strong vortex at the intake opening. Lock in position with the thumb screws.
