The Atlantic Water Gardens Biopress 1600 replacement bucket is the main housing body for the Oase Biopress 1600 pressurised pond filter, rated for ponds up to 16,000 litres (4,200 gallons) with UV. Replacing a cracked or damaged bucket body preserves the filter's UV assembly, lid, clamps, and media — the higher-value components — rather than discarding the entire filter unit when only the housing has failed.

Sized for Medium Ponds

The Biopress 1600 is a step up from the 1000 in media volume and UV power, making it suitable for ponds with heavier fish loads or greater organic input. The bucket housing is proportionally larger and thicker-walled than the 1000, but the same freeze-thaw vulnerabilities apply in Canadian climates. Ponds in regions with extended freezing winters should have the filter stored indoors during the off-season — if the filter was left outdoors while frozen, inspect the bucket carefully for micro-cracking along the seam areas before the next season.

How to Replace

Disconnect all plumbing and power from the Biopress 1600. Remove the lid and media; transfer media to the new bucket. Move the UV assembly carefully to the new housing. Reassemble with existing clamps and seals if in good condition. Test under pressure for leaks at all connection points before returning the filter to pond service.
