Description

Atlas Platinum PVL14OF-EXT Open Front Alignment Lift with Two RJ7000 Rolling Jacks

The defining feature of this lift is a piece of steel that is not there. A conventional four-post alignment rack ties its front columns together with a cross-beam, and that beam sits exactly where a technician wants to stand, kneel, roll a transmission jack or swing an exhaust section out. The PVL14OF-EXT is open at the front: no beam, no obstruction, 94 1/2" of drive-through between the carriages and 116 3/8" of clear space between the columns. You walk in from the front of the vehicle and keep walking.

Everything else follows from that. 14,000 lbs of capacity, extra-long runways with built-in slip plates and turntables for four-wheel alignment, two Atlas Platinum RJ7000 rolling jacks rated 7,000 lbs each, and the longest structural warranty in this category — 5 yr structural, 2 yr hydraulic, 2 yr power unit.

Why an Open Front Changes the Work, Not Just the Look

Front-of-vehicle work is where the beam gets in the way: steering racks, radiators, front subframes, engine mounts, exhaust downpipes. On a closed-front lift every one of those means working around a fixed structural member at waist height. Remove it and the front of the bay becomes approach space — for a technician, a creeper, a transmission jack, and the trolley carrying whatever comes off.

Because the front columns cannot be tied together, the structure has to be stronger in other places to make up for it. That is why the columns differ front to rear — 92 1/2" at the rear, 109 1/4" at the front — and why the runways are 7" thick. An open-front lift is a more expensive thing to build than a closed one, and this is where the money goes.

Alignment Hardware and the Long Runways

Slip plates and turntables are built in rather than added on, and the runways are extra long: 223 1/2" of runway inside an overall length of 272 1/8" with the ramps, taking a maximum wheelbase of 203". Runways are 20" wide with 42 3/4" between them. Steel approach ramps are supplied.

Locking is a lock ladder design with a double lock safety system and an adjustable ladder, released from a single air-operated point — external air supply required. Single-point release matters here: freeing the locks one corner at a time is how a lift comes down unevenly, and how a technician ends up under a vehicle still locked at one corner.

The power unit is the premium ALLY unit as standard, on 220volt single phase with a 30amp breaker. A named power unit is worth noticing on a lift: it is the component most likely to need service in the first five years, and knowing which one you have is the difference between a part on the shelf and a part on back order.

The Two RJ7000 Rolling Jacks

Each RJ7000 is rated 7,000 lbs, air over hydraulic, with two safety lock positions and a scissor mechanism that keeps the pad level as it rises. They adjust from 36" to 45 1/2" in width and suit runway spacing from 36" to 45". Minimum lifting height is 12 1/2" and maximum with adapters is 27 1/2", with double screw-up adapters supplied and a pad range of 1 1/2" to 4". Air demand is up to 115 PSI, the same supply the lift's lock release uses. Each jack ships at 390 lbs and carries a 1 Year Parts Only warranty.

Will It Fit?

  • Floor length. 272 1/8" overall with the ramp, and add approach space in front of that. This page also lists 207" under an inside-columns heading; on our sheet that is a front-to-back measurement taken between the column pairs, not the sideways gap a vehicle drives through. Read the note below before you plan a bay around either one.
  • Floor width. 140 1/8" without the motor, 148 3/4" with it. Note that the motor side needs service access, not just physical clearance.
  • Ceiling. Lifting height is 73 1/4" and clearance under the runways is 66 1/4". Take the lifting height, add the tallest vehicle you plan to raise, and measure to the lowest fitting over the bay.
  • Drive-through. 94 1/2" between the carriages, with 116 3/8" between the columns and 83 1/8" outside runway to runway.
  • Concrete. 6" at 3,000 PSI. This is a published requirement, not a suggestion, and confirming the slab is the buyer's responsibility. If the slab is thin, unknown or poured in sections, have it cored and tested before ordering.
  • Power. 220V, 1 phase, 30A. Have a licensed electrician confirm supply, breaker and cable run before delivery.
  • Air. Required, not optional — the lock release and both rolling jacks run on it, up to 115 PSI.
  • Oil. 3 to 5 gallons of AW32 or AW46, not supplied. Order it with the lift.

One Label, Two Different Dimensions

Two unrelated measurements on this page are published under almost the same words, so it is worth being sure which one you are reading. The 207" figure in the fit list sits beneath an inside-columns heading and runs front to back, from the forward pair of columns to the rear pair. The 116 3/8" figure in the drive-through bullet runs side to side, across the bay, and that is the space a vehicle actually passes between on its way onto the runways. A buyer skimming for the words "between the columns" can land on either of them.

Both numbers are printed here, because both describe something real about this lift and both are on the specification sheet — but only the side-to-side figure is clearance. Send us the vehicle and the bay you are planning around and we will confirm in writing which dimension each figure describes before you order — an alignment rack is an expensive thing to plan around the wrong measurement.

Confirm the Shipping Weight Before Delivery Day

Published figures for the weight of the lift differ, and it is worth knowing before you arrange the forklift, because the two straddle the rating of a common yard machine:

Figure Where it is stated Value
Shipping weight, lift Feature list and specification table below 4,462 lbs
Overall weight, lift Product data record for this listing 4,852 lbs

Plan your unloading against the higher figure and confirm the exact weight with us before delivery day — and remember the two rolling jacks arrive separately at 390 lbs each.

Perfect For

  • Alignment shops that also do heavy front-end work and lose time to a cross-beam every day.
  • Dealership service departments, where the ALI listing is usually a procurement requirement rather than a preference.
  • Fleet workshops needing the 203" wheelbase capability for long vans and light trucks.
  • High-volume general repair, where the five-year structural cover is part of the purchasing case.

What's in the Box

  • PVL14OF-EXT open-front alignment lift, extra-long runways
  • Built-in slip plates and alignment turntables
  • Adjustable lock ladder with double lock safety system, air-operated single point release
  • Premium ALLY power unit
  • Steel approach ramps and mounting hardware
  • Two Platinum RJ7000 rolling jacks with double screw-up adapters

Certification

The lift is ALI certified. That is the reason many buyers are on this page rather than a cheaper one, so it is worth being exact about what it means: an independent third party has listed this lift against a North American lift safety standard. It is a different and stronger thing than a manufacturer declaring its own product compliant, and it is the specific document that commercial insurers, fleet policies and some local jurisdictions ask for by name.

If you are subject to such a requirement, send it to us and we will confirm the documentation for this model satisfies it before you order.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight to the lower 48 states, arriving as several pieces: the lift itself, plus the two rolling jacks at 390 lbs each. Count everything against the paperwork before the driver leaves, because on a multi-piece delivery a missing carton is easy to notice a day too late.

Unloading is yours to arrange, and given the weight disagreement above, arrange for the higher number: a forklift with capacity in reserve, or a telehandler. Terminal and warehouse pickup are available if the site cannot receive freight. Residential delivery carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout from your ZIP code, so what you see is your own lane on the day.

Inspect before you sign: runway edges, column faces, the power unit carton and both jacks. Write anything you find onto the bill of lading in front of the driver and photograph it. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that the freight arrived intact.

Warranty

5 yr structural, 2 yr hydraulic and 2 yr power unit on the lift; 1 Year Parts Only on each RJ7000. Five years on the structure is unusually long in this class, and it is a reasonable proxy for how the manufacturer expects the steel to behave. Terms and the claim route are on our warranty claims page.

Do not disassemble a suspect power unit, cylinder or lock assembly before the claim has been opened. It is the most common reason a genuine failure ends up outside cover. Photograph it in place, describe what it did, and let us open the claim first.
