Description
Atlas RJ-6 6,000 lb Rolling Bridge Jack
A four-post lift raises a vehicle. It does not, on its own, let you take a wheel off. The RJ-6 is the accessory that closes that gap: an air-over-hydraulic rolling bridge jack rated at 6,000 lbs. that sits across the runways of an above-ground four-post lift and picks the vehicle up off them. What separates it from a jack tray and a bottle jack is reach. Telescoping arms extend out over the runways, so the lift pads land on the vehicle manufacturer's designated lifting points rather than on whatever happens to be reachable between the rails.
The measurement that decides whether it fits
Set every other number aside for a moment. The one that determines compatibility is the gap between your lift's runways, and the expandable rail supports on this jack adjust to span 31 1/2" to 49 1/2". Go and measure yours before you order. The frame itself works between a minimum width of 30 1/2" (2' 6 1/2") and a maximum of 64 1/2" (5' 4 1/2"), and the supports ride on a roller system, so once it is in place the assembly glides along the length of the vehicle instead of being dragged into position. If your runway spacing falls outside that window this is the wrong jack, and we would much rather you knew that now.
Locks do the holding, not the hydraulics
The RJ-6 has multiple solid mechanical locking positions. Raise the vehicle, set the locks, and the load transfers onto steel - the hydraulic cylinder is no longer what is keeping the car in the air. It is the same principle as sliding jack stands under a car you have lifted with a floor jack, and it exists for the same reason: hydraulic systems fail gradually, seals weep, and a mechanical stop does not care. Anyone who intends to put their hands or their head under a raised vehicle should be choosing equipment on exactly this basis, and it is worth being clear that the lock positions are the safety feature here, not the cylinder.
Trucks sit higher, so the adapters come with it
The lift pads are double screw-up adapters, so fine height adjustment for an uneven pickup point is built into the pad itself. Beyond that, a four-piece peg-style truck adapter set is included as standard - two each at 3" and 7" - raising pad height enough to reach the frame of a pickup or a larger truck that rides well above the runways in a way a passenger car does not. With adapters fitted, maximum lifting height is 17 5/8" (1' 5 5/8"). The arm holes and adapter pegs are a 2" fit, and the scissor mechanism underneath is what keeps the pads rising level rather than tipping under an off-centre load.
What it needs from your shop
Air, and only air. This is an air-over-hydraulic jack and it requires an external supply; a compressor is not included. Atlas is specific about the range: it is engineered for delivered air pressure between 70-115 PSI, and going past 115 PSI risks damaging the jack. Regulate at the jack rather than trusting the gauge on the wall, especially if you run a large compressor with a high cut-out pressure. Confirming your air supply, your runway spacing and the access route for a 350 lbs crate is the customer's responsibility before delivery day.
Perfect For
- The home four-post owner who wants to do brakes, tires and suspension rather than only storage and oil changes.
- The independent repair shop running four-post lifts for alignment and general service work.
- Truck and light-commercial work - the supplied peg adapters exist precisely for vehicles that sit high.
- Collectors and restorers who need a wheel off a stored vehicle without unloading the lift first.
What's in the Box
- Atlas RJ-6 rolling bridge jack, air/hydraulic, powder coated finish
- Double screw-up lift pad adapters
- Four-piece truck adapter set - two each 3" and 7"
- Expandable rail supports with roller system
Not included: the compressed air supply, and of course the four-post lift itself. This is an accessory for a lift you already own.

Certification, stated honestly
Our product data for this jack does not include an independent third-party safety listing, and we would rather put that on the page than let silence be read either way. For a home shop it rarely matters. For a commercial one it can matter a great deal, because insurers, fleet contracts and some local inspection regimes ask that lifting equipment carry a recognised listing, and where they do the requirement is usually written around the lift and its accessories together. If you are subject to something of that kind, get the requirement in writing from whoever imposes it and speak to us before ordering. We will send you the manufacturer's own documentation rather than an assurance.
Shipping and Delivery
The RJ-6 ships as freight within the lower 48 states at 350 lbs. It is compact for that weight, which makes it dense and awkward: expect to need a forklift, a dock, or two people and a plan, or take terminal pickup instead. Warehouse collection is available at the Atlas locations shown further down this page. Residential delivery is available and carries a fee, and the freight itself is quoted live at checkout because carrier pricing does not stand still.
Before you sign the delivery paperwork, walk around the crate. Pay attention to the cylinder area and the arms, check the piece count, and write any damage onto the bill of lading in front of the driver. A signature on a clean receipt is taken as your confirmation that everything arrived in good order.
Warranty
Coverage is 1 Year Parts Only: a failed covered component is supplied to you, and fitting it is not included.
One caution that applies specifically to hydraulics - do not open the cylinder or dismantle the valve assembly before you contact us. A hydraulic component that has already been taken apart cannot be assessed, and stripping it first is the most reliable way to turn a straightforward claim into a long conversation. Photograph the symptom, leave the unit intact, and call.
