Description
Atlas RJ6 Rolling Bridge 6,000 lb Jack
The RJ6 is the wheel-service half of a four-post lift. On its own a four-post holds a vehicle up by its tires, which is fine for storage, oil and exhaust work and useless for brakes, hubs or suspension. Drop this air/hydraulic bridge jack across the runways and the vehicle comes off them, wheels hanging free, at a working height you can get a stool under. Two published figures make it worth checking against your own lift before anything else: it spans runways set 32" to 50" apart, and with adapters fitted it reaches a lifting height of 21" (1' 9").
Start with the tape measure
Runway spacing is what makes a bridge jack fit or not fit, and every four-post is built to its own dimensions. Measure the clear gap between the inner faces of your runways. If it lands between 32" and 50", the expandable rail supports on the RJ6 will sit across it. The frame itself opens from a minimum width of 35" (2' 11") out to a maximum of 55" (4' 7"), and it rolls on a roller system built into those supports, so repositioning along the vehicle is a push rather than a lift-and-shuffle. Anything outside that window and you want a different jack - please ask us rather than guessing.
Two lock positions, and why that phrasing matters
Atlas specifies two solid locking positions on this jack. That is a deliberate design statement rather than a limitation: once the vehicle is up and a lock is engaged, the weight rests on steel and the hydraulic cylinder stops being what holds it there. Fluid systems lose pressure slowly and without announcing it; a mechanical lock either is engaged or is not. Treat setting the lock as part of raising the vehicle rather than as an optional extra step, exactly as you would drop stands under a car raised on a floor jack.
Reaching the lifting points on a truck
Height is where this jack differs most from a jack tray. The telescoping arms extend out over the runways so the pads meet the vehicle's designated lifting points instead of whatever is reachable between the rails, and a four-piece peg-style truck adapter set is included - two each at 2" and 3" - to make up the extra height a pickup or larger truck sits at compared with a passenger car. Adapter pegs and arm holes are a 1.5" fit. Underneath, a scissor mechanism keeps the pads rising level, which is what stops a load with an off-centre weight distribution from tipping as it comes up.
What your shop has to provide
Compressed air, from an external supply that is not included with the jack. Atlas engineers the RJ6 around delivered air pressure of 70-115 PSI; pushing past 115 PSI can damage it, so fit a regulator at the jack if your compressor cuts out high. There is no electrical requirement at all, which is often the deciding factor in a home garage where the four-post is nowhere near an outlet. The finish is powder coat, and the profile is deliberately low so the unit rolls under a vehicle already sitting on the runways.
Perfect For
- Home four-post owners who bought the lift for storage and now want to do real work on the car.
- Service shops where four-post lifts do double duty for alignment and general repair.
- Trucks and SUVs - the included peg adapters are there for vehicles with a high frame.
- Anyone with an unusually wide four-post, where the 50" upper span is the deciding number.
What's in the Box
- Atlas RJ6 rolling bridge jack, air/hydraulic, powder coated
- Four-piece truck adapter set - two each 2" and 3"
- Expandable rail supports with integrated rollers
Supplied separately by you: the compressed air. And the four-post lift, naturally - this is an accessory, not a standalone lift.

Certification, stated honestly
There is no independent third-party safety listing recorded against this jack in the data we hold, and we would rather write that down than leave you to infer it. Most home users will never be asked. Commercial operators sometimes are: an insurance policy, a fleet services contract or a municipal inspection regime can require lifting equipment to carry a recognised listing, and such requirements are normally written to cover a lift together with the accessories used on it. If you are working under one, obtain the exact wording from whoever set it and contact us before ordering so we can send you the manufacturer documentation that does exist.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight, lower 48 states, 350 lbs on the crate. That weight in a small package means it is not a two-person carry off a tailboard: arrange a forklift or a dock, or select terminal pickup and collect it yourself. Atlas warehouse collection points are listed lower down this page. A residential delivery can be booked and carries a fee. We quote the freight live during checkout instead of publishing a figure, since carrier pricing changes week to week.
Check it over on arrival, with the driver still there. Compare the pieces against the bill of lading, look closely at the arms and the cylinder area for impact damage, and write anything questionable on the delivery receipt before signing. Sign clean and the carrier is entitled to treat the shipment as delivered undamaged.
Warranty
The RJ6 is covered 1 Year, Parts Only - a covered part is supplied, the labor to fit it is yours.
Please do not dismantle a hydraulic component before speaking to us. Once a cylinder or valve body has been opened, nobody can establish what failed or why, and that single step causes more rejected claims than the failures themselves. Take photographs, keep the unit as it is, and get in touch.
