Bludee AC600i — the identifier is what you are paying for

A refrigerant identifier does not protect the car. It protects the machine, and through it every car that comes after.

That is the case for the AC600i in one sentence. It is a full-function R1234YF recovery, recycling, evacuation, leak-test and recharge unit, and it carries a built-in identifier that checks what is actually in the system before recovery starts. Whatever a vehicle's service history claims, whatever the label under the bonnet says, the machine looks first.

What an identifier actually prevents

The vehicle that damages your machine is not the one with a genuine R1234YF charge. It is the one that came in already wrong — topped up with the cheap can, filled by a previous shop that only owned one machine, or sold with a hydrocarbon blend in it. Nothing about that vehicle looks unusual on the ramp.

Recover from it blind and the contamination is now inside your storage cylinder. The consequences follow in order: the machine cannot be trusted on the next vehicle, the cylinder contents have to be disposed of as mixed gas instead of reclaimed, the filter and possibly more needs attention, and every system serviced since the contamination went in becomes a question you cannot answer. The machine is out of service in the middle of the season it earns its keep.

Set against that, a check that happens automatically before every recovery is not a luxury feature. It is the reason the machine is still working in August.

Everything the standard unit does, plus that check

Underneath the identifier this is the same automated platform. Recovery, recycling, vacuum and recharge run as one sequence from a single instruction, and the steps that usually interrupt a technician are handled by the machine: the internal tank refills itself mid-service instead of stopping the job, and the air purge keeps non-condensable gas from building in the tank — a contamination that is invisible, ruins charge accuracy, and does not announce itself until a customer comes back saying the air is warm.

A vacuum leak test is available to find gross leaks before the charge goes in, which on a refrigerant at current prices pays for itself quickly. The cylinder is mounted inside the cabinet, the scales are onboard, tank filling can run to a preset value or be driven manually, and a built-in thermal printer produces the record. A comprehensive capacity database covers passenger vehicles, so the charge quantity is looked up rather than remembered.

Siting and supply

Power is 110V at 60 Hz from an ordinary single-phase outlet. The cabinet is 560 x 625 x 1048 mm — quoted in millimetres on purpose, because the imperial figures held in the catalogue data for this model are the millimetre numbers with inch marks mistakenly attached. We will not repeat a broken conversion at you. Convert it for your own bay, or ask and we will confirm the machine's dimensions with the manufacturer.

Beyond space, the requirement is mundane: a permanent position with clear access at the front, and a hose route that nobody drives over. Preparing a suitable, ventilated location with an adequate supply is the owner's responsibility.

Two published recovery figures, and we will not choose between them

Bludee's overview text for the AC600i gives 95% recovery efficiency for fuel and hybrid vehicles. The specification table on this same page gives 99% to medium vacuum. One manufacturer, one model, two different numbers. Certification and compliance, stated honestly

No independent performance listing for this machine is present in the information we hold, and nothing on this page should be read as one. It is worth being explicit about, because the identifier is a measuring function and a shop may reasonably want to know it has been assessed by somebody other than the company selling it. A manufacturer's specification is a manufacturer's specification. If a warranty programme, an insurer or a local requirement obliges you to use assessed equipment, confirm what it demands before you buy, and we will request Bludee's documentation and forward it as received.

Delivery and pickup

The machine travels crated, as freight, within the lower 48 states. Your freight cost is quoted live for your address at checkout rather than guessed at here, and a delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee. Tell us up front what the receiving end looks like — no dock and no forklift usually means terminal pickup is the better plan. On arrival, walk the crate before you sign, and write anything you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. A clean signature on damaged freight is close to unwinnable.

Warranty

The terms and the claim route are set out on our warranty claims page. If something is wrong, call us before anyone reaches for a screwdriver. Inside the cabinet is a sealed refrigerant circuit, calibrated load cells and a pressure vessel; a machine stripped before it has been assessed cannot be assessed afterwards, and disassembly ends the warranty.
