CEMB ER75TD: balance and roundness measured in the same spin
A conventional balancer answers one question — where do the weights go. The ER75TD answers a second at the same time: is this assembly actually round when it rolls under load? That measurement is radial force variation, and it is why a wheel can leave a balancer reading zero and still shimmy at highway speed. Here it is not a separate machine, a separate cycle or a separate decision by the technician. It rides along with the balance spin.
CEMB's own comparison against traditional force-variation balancers is a 78% faster cycle time at more than 40% less equipment investment. Those are the manufacturer's figures, not ours, and they describe the trade: eccentricity diagnosis without the dedicated, slow, expensive machine that used to be the only way to get it.
HubMatch: clocking the high point to the hub
Tires and wheels are not perfectly round, and their errors add or cancel depending on how they are assembled. The traditional fix is match mounting — re-indexing the tire on the rim until the high points oppose — which is slow and which nobody enjoys doing twice. HubMatch takes a different route: it detects the imbalance and the first-harmonic high point of the assembly and puts that position on screen, so the wheel goes onto the vehicle with the high point clocked against the hub's own mechanical clearance. The eccentricity is cancelled by how the wheel goes onto the car, not by taking the tire off the rim again.
That is an assembly-line practice borrowed from vehicle manufacturers, and this machine puts it within reach of an ordinary tire bay. An auto-prompting limit monitor flags the assemblies carrying excessive force variation, so the operator is told which wheels need the treatment instead of guessing — the difference between a process that gets followed and one skipped on a busy Saturday.
AutoAdaptive: a tolerance that follows the wheel, not the manual
Traditional practice calls a wheel balanced once residual imbalance drops below a fixed threshold per plane, whatever the wheel weighs. Physically that is the wrong test: what the driver feels is that residual acting on the mass and geometry of the particular wheel. A heavy commercial wheel swallows a residual nobody notices; a light alloy telegraphs a far smaller error straight into the steering.
AutoAdaptive Mode measures each wheel as it spins and derives the residual limit corresponding to a vibration the driver will not perceive — so no chasing grams on a heavy wheel nobody would feel, and no light wheel signed off at a threshold that brings the customer back next week.
One Plane Balancing, and why one weight beats two
Static imbalance causes most of what a driver feels, but correcting only the static component by hand usually pushes the dynamic residual up — an inaccurate balance that cost time and counterweights to produce. One Plane Balancing works out whether a single ideal correction plane exists inside the rim: the point where one counterweight minimises static and dynamic residual together. The machine makes that judgement itself at the end of the spin and enables the program only when the wheel qualifies. One weight rather than two means less inventory, less adhesive and one fewer chance to place a weight where a caliper will find it, and a laser spotter marks the exact position so the correction lands where the machine calculated it.
Getting a heavy wheel onto the machine
Clamping is pneumatic and is a CEMB patent, so the assembly is secured by a control action rather than by hand-tightening a nut onto a cone — consistent from the first wheel of the day to the last. A ZeroWeight wheel lift raises a heavy assembly to spindle height: this machine accepts assemblies up to 165 lbs (75 kg), and hand-lifting weights like that all day is how shops lose technicians to back injuries. Sonar takes the width and an automatic arm takes diameter and distance, so the dimensions most often mistyped on a keypad are measured rather than entered.
Will it fit your shop?
The constraints are electrical and pneumatic rather than structural — there is no anchoring or concrete specification to satisfy. Power is 220 V, single phase, and the machine also needs compressed air, because the clamping is pneumatic: no air line at the bay, no clamping. Confirm both are within reach of where the machine will actually stand before you order. Providing and connecting them is the customer's responsibility, and the electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician to local code.
It ships fully assembled at 375 lbs, so also measure the route from where the truck can park to where the machine will live. Door widths, thresholds and a step up into the shop are the usual surprises, and easier to solve the week before delivery than on the day.

The manufacturer's data does not list the cone and adapter set supplied with it, so we have not invented one: if a particular centring cone matters to your work, ask us before you order.

One published figure we are not going to smooth over
The specification gives maximum tire diameter as 42" (1,016 mm). Those two values are not the same measurement: converted, the millimetre figure lands around forty inches, not forty-two. One is wrong and the data does not say which. We have printed both exactly as published rather than quietly choosing the one that reads better, because a maximum you cannot rely on is worse than no figure at all. If you are buying to service assemblies near that limit, contact us and we will confirm it with the manufacturer first.
Certification, stated plainly
The manufacturer's data for this machine states where it is built and that it is assembled and tested in the United States. What it does not include is a third-party North American safety listing, and we will not imply one by writing around the subject — a manufacturer's own declaration is a different document from an independent listing.
That matters when a third party writes the rules. Some equipment insurers, fleet policies and local inspection regimes ask for a named independent listing. If any of those apply to you, tell us before you order and we will confirm what documentation ships in the crate.
Shipping and delivery
This machine moves by freight truck within the contiguous United States. This item ships free, so there is nothing to add at checkout. Residential delivery carries a residential fee, applied at checkout.
Sort the unload before the truck is scheduled: a crate this size comes off the trailer with a forklift or at a dock, and if you have neither, ask us to arrange collection from the carrier's local terminal. Inspect before you sign — crushed corners, torn wrap, a shifted pallet — and write what you find on the bill of lading in front of the driver. A claim opened after a clean signature is much harder to win.
Warranty
A manufacturer's warranty document is published for this machine and it is the controlling text. We have deliberately not restated a coverage period here, because a paraphrase only creates a second version to argue with. Ask us and we will send the current copy before you buy.
House advice on any claim: if something fails, call us before you take it apart. Opening a sealed assembly to "have a look" is the quickest way to turn a covered failure into an uncovered one.
