Challenger Lifts 4115EFO — 15,000 lb Open-Front Alignment Rack, Standard Bay
You do not need a twenty-six-foot bay to get walk-in front access. That is the entire argument for the EFO, and it is the reason this build exists alongside the extended racks in the same family. It is the standard-length 4115 — 250.75" overall — with the front open layout, so Challenger's minimum recommended bay comes down to 14' x 24' while a technician can still step in between the runways at the nose of the vehicle instead of climbing over a front crossmember.
For an alignment shop working in a building it did not design, that combination is usually the deciding one. Capacity is 15,000 lbs and the runways are 26" wide, both shared across the range; what you are choosing here is a footprint and an access layout.
Will It Fit?
The recommended minimum bay is 14' x 24'. Work to that, not to the rack's own length — the extra allowance is what lets a door open and a technician walk the perimeter.
Overall the rack measures 250.75" long by 142" wide. Between the columns there is 195", which is 16.25 ft. The inside-column figures differ front to rear on an open-front build: 120.75" at the front, 125.5" at the rear. Column heights follow the same pattern, 99.25" at the front and 98" at the rear.
Runways are 26" wide, stand 7" off the floor and are spaced 40.625" apart. Rise height is 78" and maximum wheelbase is 183".
For services you need a 2HP motor supply at 208V–230V, 60Hz, 1Ph, and shop air at 90–120 psi for the lock system. The rack rises in 85 seconds.
Confirming the building is the buyer's job. Measure the bay against 14' x 24', check the door and the ceiling, and have an electrician confirm the supply before the order goes in. On the floor itself we have to be straight with you: our data for the EFO holds no concrete thickness and no concrete strength requirement. Please do not carry a figure across from another lift. Ask us and we will get Challenger's floor requirement for this model in writing.
What the open front actually buys you
On a closed-front rack, the front crossmember sits between the technician and the vehicle. Every adjustment made at the front of the car — and on an alignment job there are many — starts with stepping over it or working around it. The open-front layout removes that member. Challenger describes the result as unobstructed access to the vehicle's frame, and the honest version of the benefit is not dramatic: it is a few seconds and a small amount of effort, many times a day, for as long as you own the rack. That compounds in a way a specification sheet cannot show.
The trade is structural symmetry, which is why the closed-front build still exists and why some shops still prefer it. If your technicians spend most of their time at the sides or under the vehicle rather than at the nose, the open front is worth less to you than it is to an alignment specialist.
Ramps that stay grippy
The approach ramps are louvered, and Challenger states directly that this is more effective than diamond tread or abrasive strips. The reasoning holds up: raised textures grip by standing proud of the surface, and they stop gripping as they fill with rubber and road film. A louvre grips on a formed edge and clears itself instead of packing solid. A rack in a busy bay is driven onto wet, several times a day, for years — the ramp surface is one of the few parts of a four-post lift that genuinely degrades in service.
Locks, and the part inside the column
There are 17 lock positions. That is a comfort specification rather than a safety one — any position holds — and it means the runways can be stopped closer to the height the technician wants. Inside each column, an internally encapsulated UHMW slide block is the wear interface between carriage and column. Keeping that surface enclosed keeps grinding dust and brake dust off it, and a slide block that stays clean is why a rack still runs smoothly in its second decade.
Where the shared copy and this model's spec sheet part company
All four 4115 builds carry the same block of manufacturer marketing text, and two claims in it need qualifying on this SKU:
- Galvanized coating upgrade. The shared copy suggests adding a galvanized coating to the runways, jack rails and turn-plate pockets. The EFO spec sheet lists that upgrade as not applicable. If you need galvanizing — a coastal building, or a bay that sees salted vehicles all winter — ask us to confirm availability with Challenger before you order rather than assuming it can be added.
- Alignment range. The two-wheel and four-wheel alignment rows on this spec sheet are blank. The rack takes the alignment kit and is described as compatible with current imaging alignment systems, but we hold no published alignment wheelbase range and we will not extrapolate one from the 183" maximum wheelbase.
A third, smaller point: a secondary catalogue field rounds the inside-column and column-height figures to 121" / 125" and 99" / 98". The spec-sheet values above are the precise ones. If you are laying out to the inch, work from the spec sheet and confirm with us.

Certification
This model is recorded as ALI/ETL certified. Both are third-party marks — an independent body assessed the lift — which is not the same thing as a manufacturer issuing its own declaration of conformity, and the difference is precisely what an insurer or a local inspector is testing for when they ask. Worth doing before you buy: read your own requirement carefully to see whether it names a scheme, and ask us to confirm that the build and accessories you intend to order fall within the listing's scope. We will get that confirmed by the manufacturer rather than infer it.
Shipping and Delivery
Freight to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout for your address rather than fixed in this page. You need to be able to take a long, heavy shipment off a truck — a forklift or telehandler with enough reach for the runways — or you can arrange to collect from the carrier's terminal, which is often simpler and is what a lot of shops do. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee. Inspect it in front of the driver: count the items against the paperwork, check the runway ends and column packaging for crush damage, and write anything you find on the bill of lading before you sign. Once signed clean, damage is very hard to claim.
Warranty

We are not publishing a warranty period for this rack, because the term is not in the data we hold and we will not guess at one — ask and we will get Challenger's current wording to you. One universal warning on powered lifts: never disassemble the part you plan to claim on. Take the rack out of service, photograph the failure exactly as it happened, and call us first. A component that arrives in pieces is treated as unassessable, and that alone is enough to lose an otherwise valid claim.
