Description
Challenger Lifts AR4115EAO: the open-front AR4115 that fits a shorter bay
Every argument for an open-front four-post is about access, and every argument against one is about the floor it needs. The AR4115EAO is the configuration that narrows the gap. It is the open-front rack on the shorter runway length: 250.5" overall, with a published minimum recommended bay of 14' x 24' where the long version of the same rack asks for two feet more.
Two feet of shop floor sounds like nothing until you are drawing bays on an existing building. It can be the difference between three bays and two, or between a lift that fits behind the roller door and one that does not. If the vehicles you align are ordinary cars and light trucks rather than long-wheelbase pickups, the shorter rack costs you nothing you were using.
What you keep is the whole open-front proposition on a 15,000 lbs lift: 26" runways, 78" of rise, 17 locking positions, and a clear front end.
The alignment window, and how to read it
Alignment capability on a four-post rack is not one number, it is a range, and the AR4115EAO is specified with both ends of it. Four-wheel alignment is supported from 68" to 158", and two-wheel work goes to 167.75" on this rack length.
The lower figure is the one people forget. A rack that only handles long vehicles is no use in a shop that also aligns small hatchbacks and city cars, because the turn plates and the rear slip plates have to reach positions close together as well as far apart. A 68" bottom end means the small end of the market is genuinely serviceable rather than theoretically within capacity.
Sitting behind that are 17 locking positions. More lock positions means the deck can be set at a height that suits the technician and the task instead of being parked at the nearest available notch, and on alignment work — where somebody is under the car for a sustained period — the right working height is worth real minutes per job.
Will It Fit?
Start with the bay: 14' x 24' minimum recommended, for a rack measuring 250.5" by 142".
- Between columns. 195".
- Inside columns. The spec sheet reads front 120.75", rear 125.5". A separate field on this listing gives 121" and 125". Same lift, two roundings — if your clearance is tight enough that the difference decides it, ask us to confirm against the current installation drawing.
- Column height. Sheet: front 99.25", rear 98". The other field says 99" and 98". Plan your ceiling from the larger number.
- Runways. 26" wide, 7" tall, 40.625" apart.
- Rise. 78", taking about 85 seconds.
- Max. wheelbase. 183".
- Services. 2HP motor, 208V-230V, 60Hz, 1Ph; air supply 90 to 120 psi.
Concrete thickness and strength are not stated anywhere in the specification data we hold, and we will not fill that gap with a plausible-sounding figure. Ask us for the installation drawing and have the slab assessed against it. The floor, the ceiling and the power supply are the buyer's to verify before delivery.
Perfect For
- Alignment shops in tight buildings that want the open-front layout without the floor length the long rack demands.
- General service shops adding alignment to an existing bay rather than building a dedicated one.
- Tyre and suspension specialists working mainly on cars and light trucks, where 183" of wheelbase covers the roster.
- Shops running imaging alignment systems, which this rack is stated to suit.
What ships with it
Columns, 26" runways, lifting and locking hardware, power unit and louvered approach ramps.
The alignment kit is an option, described by the manufacturer as rolling jacks, an internal airline system and stainless steel turn plates. This configuration's sheet also lists a galvanized upgrade as available, part number HDGUPGRADE, protecting runways, jack rails and turn plate pockets. Neither is in the base price, so ask us to quote whichever you need with the lift rather than after it.

Certification, plainly
The sheet for this model records ALI/ETL certification. That is worth something precise rather than general: it is the answer to an insurer, a fleet policy or a local inspector who asks for a third-party lift safety listing by name.
What we cannot do is tell you whether it satisfies your particular requirement. Send us the wording and we will verify it against current documentation for this configuration before you commit.
Shipping and delivery
Delivery is by freight within the lower 48 states. This item ships free, so there is nothing to add at checkout.
Work out the unload before the shipment is booked. Freight is delivered to the kerb and taking it off the trailer is the receiver's responsibility, so either a forklift or telehandler rated for the crate needs to be waiting, or you arrange collection from the carrier's local terminal — often the easier route for a shop without its own handling equipment. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, which is applied at checkout when that option is chosen.
Check the freight before signing for it. Count the crates against the packing list, walk the load with the driver, and note anything at all on the bill of lading — scuffed paint, split banding, a corner that has taken a knock. Once a clean bill of lading is signed the carrier's exposure ends, and a claim opened the next day rarely goes anywhere.
Warranty
Challenger handles warranty on this lift. The specification data behind this listing records a warranty reference rather than a stated duration, and we are not going to print a term we cannot verify. Ask us and we will confirm the terms currently applying to your configuration, or read our warranty claims page.
Whatever the term proves to be, one rule saves claims: leave the failed part alone. A power unit or cylinder that has already been opened is very hard for anyone to adjudicate, and disassembly is the single most common reason a covered failure turns into an argument. Photograph it in place and call us first.
