The Gravel Board for Traditional Featherboard Fencing System is a durable timber component designed to protect the base of traditional featherboard fencing from contact with the ground. Measuring 2.40m long x 150mm wide x 25mm thick, this Jakcure® treated gravel board provides a practical and attractive finishing detail for timber fence installations.

The gravel board is used mainly with Traditional Featherboard fencing and is typically nailed to the fence posts using 3 x 75mm nails at each end. It helps provide a durable barrier between the fence panels and the ground, supporting the longevity of the overall fencing system.

The gravel board is covered by a 25-year guarantee against rot and insect attack. Where possible, cutting, drilling or notching any timber that will be installed in-ground should be avoided in accordance with the 25-year Jakcure® guarantee terms and conditions. If occasional cutting is required, Cut Treatment should be applied liberally to the affected areas.

For material planning, 1 gravel board is required for each 2.4m section of traditional Featherboard fencing.

Please note that this gravel board is not suitable for use with slotted posts (Jakposts). For slotted post installations, a purpose-designed slotted post gravel board should be used instead.

For a hedgehog-friendly traditional fencing installation, a hole can be cut into the gravel board on site, with a small peg used to support the fence rail. Support pegs can also help prevent gravel boards from distorting when multiple boards are stacked to increase fence height.
