Typically we recommend on using a 5oz, 6oz, 8oz egg weight. However this really depends on the depth and the current. We recommend using the lightest weight possible that will still quickly get your bait to the bottom.\u003c\/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eOnce you have decided on the size of the weight you are going to use slide the weight onto your mainline then tie your mainline to the swivel at the top of the rig.\u003c\/li\u003e \u003cli\u003eHook on your favorite bait and drop to the bottom and start fishing. The braid is going to give you the most amount of sensitivity and have less of a belly in the line in deep water compared to using  straight monofilament. The topshot works like a bungee cord. Braid has zero stretch so the small section of mono is going to give some forgiveness with the stretch it provides.
