Hofmann geoliner 630: the tilting beam, and why it changes where you can align
Most imaging aligners assume a fact about your shop that may not be true: that the vehicle will always be presented at one height, on one rack, in one bay. The geoliner 630 is built around an exclusive tilting camera beam that lets the cameras look at the targets across a range of working heights, so alignments can be carried out at different rack heights or with the vehicle on stands. For a workshop that does alignment alongside general repair rather than in a dedicated lane, that single mechanical feature is what makes the machine usable at all.
The second thing worth knowing before anything else is what the targets are: they are passive. There is no electronics package in the target heads, nothing to charge, nothing to pair and nothing to replace when a target is knocked off a bench. In a busy shop, the components that break are the ones technicians carry around, and a target with no electronics in it is a maintenance line item that never appears.
Will it fit, and what will it measure?
The machine's demands on your building are modest, and its demands on your electrical supply are ordinary. The vehicles it can measure are defined by the ranges below.

Note the track width figure in particular. The measured track width range on this model starts higher than on several other imaging aligners in the Hofmann family, so if you regularly align very narrow-track vehicles it is worth confirming with us that the vehicles you have in mind sit inside the published range before you commit. That is a fitment question the brochure will not answer for your particular mix of work.
Beyond the electrical supply, the requirements are yours to establish: the rack or stand arrangement, the clear floor the beam needs, and the storage position when the aligner is not in use. The specification does not publish a cabinet footprint or a shipping weight for this listing, so measure your intended location and route and confirm anything critical with us rather than assuming.
Software that gets to the reading, not to the menu
Alignment software is judged on how few decisions it forces before the first number appears. Here the flow is predictive: vehicle history is available from the home screen, so a returning customer does not have to be identified from scratch; selection can be made manually or by vehicle identification number, with an optional scanner if you want to remove typing from the process altogether; and the graphic display is laid out for reading across a bay rather than at arm's length.
None of that is glamorous, and all of it is where alignment labour actually goes. A technician who reaches live readings in a couple of minutes rather than five, on every job, has recovered an alignment's worth of time by the end of a busy day.
Video-speed cameras and error detection
The camera system runs fast enough to monitor the alignment continuously rather than sampling it, and the software watches for the conditions that quietly corrupt a result: environmental problems in the bay, and vehicle faults that produce a maladjustment no amount of careful setting will fix. Being warned that the numbers are being disturbed — instead of discovering it when the customer returns with a pull — is what separates a diagnostic aligner from a measuring device.
VODI: the walk you stop making
The patented Vehicle Orientation Directional Indicator is a small idea with a measurable payback. During the measuring routine it tells the technician what the machine needs next, in a form readable from the vehicle, so the job does not become a series of trips back to the console to see what the software is waiting for. On a shop floor those trips are individually trivial and collectively expensive.
Online connectivity, and what it is really for
The aligner downloads vehicle specifications and software updates itself, and supports remote diagnostics for service. The first of those keeps the specification database current without a technician managing files. The second is the one that matters when something goes wrong: a support engineer who can look at the machine remotely can often resolve a problem in a call rather than a site visit, and an aligner that is not working is a bay that is not earning.

Certification and compliance, stated honestly
The product data we hold for this aligner does not list a third-party safety certification, and we are not going to imply one. That is a statement about our records rather than a claim about the machine: a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is a different document from an independent listing issued by a testing body, and only the second is what an insurer, a dealership programme or a local inspector normally asks to see.
If your work is tied to a manufacturer's certified alignment programme, or your insurer specifies listed equipment, ask us before ordering and we will chase the documentation from the manufacturer rather than guess at it. Electrical installation is a separate question again, and it is governed by your local code and your electrician, not by us.
Delivery, installation and site access
This machine ships as freight, not as a parcel, and it travels crated on a pallet. Delivery, setup and instruction arrangements for Hofmann equipment are set out in the Pick Up and Delivery section further down this page, and warehouse collection is offered on much of this range — tell us at the time of order which you want, because the two are booked differently. Shipping is to addresses in the contiguous United States.
Three things are the buyer's responsibility whichever route you choose. Measure the path from the delivery point to the working position, including door widths and any turn a crated machine has to make. If the delivery address is a home rather than a commercial address, say so before you order — residential delivery is arranged differently and a residential fee applies. And inspect the crate before you sign: note any damage, crushed corner or shifted strapping on the delivery receipt at the moment of delivery, and photograph it. A signed clean receipt makes a damage claim very difficult to pursue afterwards, and that is the single most common way a buyer ends up out of pocket on freight equipment.
Warranty
Warranty terms for this machine are published on our warranty claims page rather than quoted here, so that what you read is the current policy rather than a figure copied into a description and left to go stale. One practical warning that applies to every powered machine we sell: if something fails, contact us before disassembling the unit or attempting an internal repair. Stripping an assembly down before the claim is raised routinely voids the cover, and it also destroys the evidence the manufacturer needs to see.
