ProFlora AquaBasis Plus planting substrate from JBL provides plant roots with a long term nutrient mix featuring the 5 vital elements they require. JBL ProFlora AquaBasis Plus contains selected natural peats to help create a slightly acidic environment, making nutrients more readily available to aquarium plants. The special clay granulate contained in ProFlora AquaBasis serves as a nutrient storage depot, releasing nutrients when there is a deficit and absorbing them when there is a surplus.

This specially formulated planting substrate ensures a reliable supply of trace elements and nutrients including vital iron in the form of a granulate specially balanced for plant roots. Thanks to the highly porous nature of this mineral granulate it also provides the excellent conditions for colonisation by beneficial bacteria for improved aquarium conditions.

For aquarium plants to flourish key main demands have to be met including suitable lighting and CO2 levels for optimal photosynthesis, nutrients and trace elements for healthy growth and colouration and a suitable substrate. When used in conjunction with each other JBL CO2 units, substrates and fertilisers supply the plants with these key requirements required for optimum healthy growth.

Application:
Spread a 2-4cm deep layer of JBL ProFlora AquaBasis Plus plant substrate as the base layer in the aquarium and cover with a layer around 5-8cm deep of JBL Manado or other suitable aquarium gravel with a grain size of 2-3mm.
