Important
Oxygenating plants are to provide cover for the larvae. During this stage the larvae feed on all small bugs and mosquito larvae.
The tall marginal plants are to allow the larvae to come outside the water for transformation to a dragonflies and damselflies. A grass is also needed to provide cover from predators once the dragonflies and damselflies are living in and around your pond.
Crustacean Safety Notice: Aquatic plants may have been exposed to pesticide treatments that can be harmful to shrimp, snails and other crustaceans. If your aquarium contains crustaceans, we recommend soaking plants for 24 hours before introduction in a solution of 1 tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda per 1 litre of water, ideally under lighting.
