biOrb Air Pump Kit DC Version - complete with a DC 12 volt air pump, a one way valve and an air stone. This kit contains all you need to replace or add an air pump to your aquarium set up.

Please note - this is a DC version and will NOT work with the older AC tanks.

The biOrb Air Pump is a vital part of your tank system, it helps to add the essential oxygen the fish need to stay healthy and is a reliable unit designed to operate constantly 24 hours a day. Ideal for use as a replacement pump in any biOrb aquarium but is also suitable for other tank brands. The oxygen aerator is a safe and low voltage replacement straight from biOrb and is simple to replace, simply unplug the old one and plug in a new one.

Provided with the Air pump is a one way valve. It is always advised to have a one watt valve connected to your airline between your aquarium air pump and the outlet point. This prevents water back siphoning through the soft air tube hose and causing damage to the air pump (most common during a power outage). And is especially recommended in set-ups where the air pump is positioned below the fish tank. It is vital to check the valve (every 6 months) to ensure it is still in order and is not leaking water. The One Way Valve is provided with 1m of flexible airline tubing.

To finish off the kit, also included is a biOrb aquarium air stone. The air stone sits in the base of the biOrb underneath the filter cartridge. Its job is to help diffuse the movement of water and create the bubbles that flow up the bubble tube and disperse oxygen around the tank. Over time the tiny pores in the bubble diffuser can become blocked by dirt and lime scale preventing air from getting through properly.
