The Oase Filtral 400 quartz glass is the precision tube that separates the 5 W UV lamp from the water inside the Filtral's built-in UVC chamber. Quartz glass transmits ultraviolet light efficiently, but mineral deposits and biological film cloud it over time — reducing UV penetration and allowing algae to survive.
Essential for Algae-Free Water
A clouded sleeve reduces UV transmission enough to let green-water algae bloom despite a functioning lamp. Replacing the sleeve annually — ideally alongside the UV bulb — ensures the full UV dose reaches the water. Handle the new sleeve with clean gloves to avoid leaving fingerprint oils that reduce light transmission.

Installation
Disconnect the Filtral from power and lift it from the pond. Remove the UV lamp and slide the old sleeve out of the UVC chamber. Clean the seat, insert the new sleeve, and reinstall the lamp. Reassemble and submerge. Confirm the UV glow is visible through the housing.
Ideal for annual spring maintenance on the Filtral 400 — replace the quartz sleeve and UV bulb together for best results.
