Backwash Flow Control for PF1200 and PF3600 Filters

The PondMax Replacement Ball Valve directs backwash flow inside PondMax PF1200 and PF3600 pressure filters. A worn or seized ball valve prevents the filter from switching cleanly between filter mode and backwash mode, leading to poor cleaning cycles or water bypassing the media chamber.

Restores Clean Mode Switching

The ball valve seals against the internal manifold to route water through the filter media during normal operation, then rotates to redirect flow straight to waste during backwashing. Years of mineral buildup, sand, and grit passing through the valve seat wear the seal and stiffen the handle. A failing valve often shows as reduced backwash flow, water leaking from the drain port during normal filtration, or a handle that will not turn smoothly through its full range.

How to Use

Shut off the pump and relieve pressure in the filter body before servicing. Remove the existing valve from the manifold, noting the orientation of the flow ports. Install the replacement valve with new thread sealant on the fittings and confirm the handle rotates freely through both filter and backwash positions before restarting the pump.
