51 CFM at 175 PSI, rated for a continuous 100% duty cycle. That combination is the reason this machine exists, and it is worth being precise about what it means. Airflow figures on compressors are frequently peak figures — what the pump can produce while it is pumping, before it has to stop and cool. A continuous duty rating says the machine is built to hold its output without a rest interval. At 51 CFM sustained, this is enough air for several technicians working simultaneously without anyone waiting on pressure to come back, which is the single most common complaint about an undersized shop compressor.

The QT MAX package is a 15 HP motor driving a splash-lubricated cast-iron two-stage pump at a deliberately conservative 1,750 RPM, on a 120-gallon horizontal receiver, wired for 208V three-phase power. Quincy rates the pump beyond 50,000 hours of life.

Splash lubrication, stated plainly

This is a splash-lubricated pump, and both our specification data and the product's own description agree on that — which is worth saying, because it is not true of every compressor in this family. Splash lubrication uses dippers on the connecting rods to throw oil through the crankcase. It has fewer components than a pressurised circuit: no oil pump, no filter housing, no pressure switch on the oil side. Fewer parts is genuinely a design philosophy rather than a compromise, provided the pump turns slowly enough and holds enough oil. This one does both. The oil sight glass lets you confirm the level in seconds, and a low-oil cut-off switch stops the machine before a starved bearing becomes a rebuild.

Managing heat across a full shift

A compressor rated to run continuously has to lose heat continuously. Two components do that here. Between the compression stages sits a high-efficiency finned intercooler, which cools the air before the second stage so that stage works on denser, cooler air — less work, less valve temperature. After the pump, built-in air-cooled aftercoolers drop the discharge temperature before the air reaches the tank. That second one earns its keep twice: it protects the receiver from thermal cycling, and it condenses a large share of the moisture at the machine, where it can be drained, instead of delivering it to your tools.

The electrics you do not think about until they matter

A magnetic starter with thermal overload protection is standard on this package. On a three-phase motor this is not a convenience item — it is what disconnects the motor on an overload or a lost phase, and losing a phase is precisely the failure that quietly cooks a three-phase motor over the following minutes. Combined with the low-oil cut-off, the machine has a defined response to the two most common ways a shop compressor dies.

The slab, the electrical feed, the disconnect and the connection to your compressed-air system are the customer's responsibility, and the electrical work should be carried out by a licensed electrician to your local code.

Certification, Honestly

The receiver on this unit is described in both our specification record and the product's own description as built to the ASME pressure-vessel code, and our record additionally lists CSA among its marks. A vessel code stamp is a real, specific claim about how the tank was constructed and tested — and it is a claim about the tank, not a general approval of the assembly bolted to it. Marks are not interchangeable, and the one that matters to you is whichever your insurer, your fleet policy or your local inspector actually names. If a particular listing is a condition of your cover or your sign-off, verify it against this unit's data plate before you buy rather than after installation.

Before You Order — Please Confirm

  • The warranty terms — the important one on this listing. Two different warranty structures appear in our data for this same product. The feature list says a 1-year factory warranty extending to a 3-year "No Bull" warranty. The product description instead describes a 1-year factory warranty on parts and labour, extending to a two-year package warranty and a three-year pump warranty, conditional on an EWK-5 Maintenance Kit being bought at the same time as the compressor and registered properly. Those are not the same offer, and one of them requires you to buy something else at the point of sale. Contact us and we will confirm the current factory terms in writing before you order, because this is not a detail you want to discover at claim time.
  • The automatic tank drain. The feature list and one of our specification records say an automatic electronic tank drain is fitted; another record says it is not. Please confirm with us if you are relying on it.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipped as freight within the lower 48 states, free of charge. It arrives palletised at 923 lbs, so you need a forklift, a loading dock, or terminal pickup where you collect from the carrier's depot — there is no scenario in which this comes off a truck by hand. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, quoted with the freight at checkout. Inspect the machine before you sign for it: check the tank, the feet, the belt guard, the gauges and the cooler fins, and write any damage onto the bill of lading while the driver is still on site. Once a clean bill of lading is signed, recovering a damage claim becomes very difficult.

Warranty

Please read the warranty item in the section above before relying on any specific term, because the published terms differ. What is common to both versions is a 1-year factory warranty as the baseline, with a longer period — up to 3 years on at least one reading — available under conditions set out by Quincy. The warranty handbook is the governing document in every case.

Regardless of which terms apply: if a fault develops, contact us before the pump is opened. Warranty claims on units that have already been disassembled are commonly refused, and that is the most avoidable way there is to lose cover on a failure that would otherwise have been paid.
