Description

Ranger RML-1500XL Motorcycle Lift Platform with Front Wheel Vise

Six mechanical lock positions, not one. The RML-1500XL's spec sheet lists platform heights at 24" (610 mm), 28.75" (730 mm), 32.5" (825 mm), 36" (902 mm), 38.5" (978 mm) and 41" (1,041 mm) — a ladder of positive mechanical stops rather than a single safety catch near the top of travel. That is the specification worth buying this table for, because it means you can set the bike at the height the job actually needs and have steel, not hydraulic pressure, holding it there.

It is a full-length platform lift rated at 1,500 lbs. (680 kg), with an integrated front wheel vise, sized for cruisers, touring bikes, fully dressed baggers, ATVs and the kind of machine that is too heavy to wrestle onto a scissor jack. A generous deck width means the frame rails or engine cases are supported across their span rather than balanced on a narrow pad.

The front wheel vise is the difference between a lift and a stand

Rolling a heavy tourer onto a bare platform and then trying to hold it upright while you strap it down is the moment most workshop damage happens. The integrated vise clamps the front wheel as soon as the bike is in position, which stops lateral movement immediately and gives you a fixed reference point to work from while you fit the rest of the tie-downs. The clamp adjusts across a range of wheel sizes, so a narrow-front sportbike and a wide touring front both sit square in it.

It matters more once the bike is in the air. A machine that can shift sideways at deck height is a machine you cannot safely lean on, and leaning on it is exactly what you do when you are breaking a stubborn fastener. Clamped at the front wheel, the bike resists the sideways load instead of absorbing it.

Rear wheel access without a second setup

The deck carries a full-length cut-out — a swing-arm slot — so the rear wheel can hang free for chain work, wheel removal, sprocket changes or shock service. This is the difference between doing rear suspension work in one setup and doing it in three. The platform stays a solid, continuous surface everywhere else, so you are not walking around a hole in the deck for jobs that do not need it, and side rails plus tie-down points give you somewhere to anchor the bike in whatever position the work requires.

Will It Fit?

These are the dimensions that decide whether the table works in your space. Fitment is the buyer's responsibility, so measure before you order — we would much rather answer a question this week than sort out a return next month.

Lifting capacity 1,500 lbs. (680 kg)
Main platform length 79.5" (2,019 mm)
Main platform length with extension 99.75" (2,534 mm)
Main platform width 29.5" (749 mm)
Overall width with side decks 51" (1,295 mm)
Overall length with extension and ramp 134.75" (3,422 mm)
Lowered height 7.75" (197 mm)
Shipping weight 808 lbs. (367 kg)
Shipping dimensions 46" x 91" x 16" (1,168 mm x 2,311 mm x 406 mm)

The number that catches people out is the overall length with the extension and the ramp fitted: 134.75" (3,422 mm) is over eleven feet of floor once the ramp is down, even though the table itself parks at 79.5" (2,019 mm). Plan the loading run, not just the footprint. The lowered height of 7.75" (197 mm) is what makes that ramp angle manageable in the first place.

Two figures to confirm with us before you order

Published figures differ on two points, each attributed to its source below.

  • Maximum lifting height. The product description on this page states the platform reaches approximately 42 inches at full height; the manufacturer's specification sheet for the same model lists a maximum lifting height of 45" (1,143 mm). If the top of travel decides your purchase, confirm the current figure with us in writing before you order — we will check it against the machine before it ships.
  • What powers it. The specification sheet lists the power supply as air / hydraulic, with an air supply requirement up to 160 PSI — that is a table you plumb into shop air. The earlier page copy describes raising and lowering with a hydraulic foot pump alone. If you do not have compressed air where this table will live, confirm the configuration with us first.

Everything else on this page comes from the published specification sheet and the six lock heights above are from that same document.

Construction and control

The frame is steel throughout, with reinforced members and gusseting at the stress points, which is what keeps a wide deck from flexing when the load sits off-center — and a motorcycle load is almost always off-center. The deck surface is finished to resist oil, corrosion and the general grime of a working bay. Legs and base are proportionally heavy; a light base under a heavy deck is how a table develops a wobble at height.

On the control side, the release is deliberate rather than instant: the lock bar is released manually and the descent is gradual, so the operator keeps control the whole way down instead of managing a drop. That is the right design decision on a machine holding a motorcycle at chest height, even though it is a second slower than an unrestrained release would be.

Perfect For

  • Motorcycle and powersports shops that need a table which holds a heavy tourer securely for a full day, not for one quick job.
  • General repair shops adding two-wheel work without dedicating a car bay to it.
  • ATV and side-by-side service where the deck width earns its keep.
  • Serious home garages with a bagger or a cruiser that has outgrown a jack and a pair of straps.

What's in the Box

The lift ships as the platform with its integrated front wheel vise, the side decks, the platform extension and the loading ramp — the components the specification sheet's overall dimensions are measured with. We deliberately do not list accessories here that our own data does not confirm are included; if you need a specific adapter or tie-down set, ask and we will tell you what actually comes in the crate.

Certification, honestly

Our record for this table claims no third-party North American safety listing for lifting equipment, and we will not imply one. That distinction matters to a specific group of buyers: some insurers, some fleet and franchise policies, and some local jurisdictions require lifting equipment to carry a recognised independent listing, and a manufacturer's own declaration is not the same document. If any of those apply to you, verify the requirement in writing before you buy — from us, and from whoever is asking. For a home garage or a shop with no such requirement, this is not a concern.

Shipping and delivery

The RML-1500XL moves as freight to the lower 48 states, crated at 808 lbs. (367 kg). That weight is the whole story: the carrier delivers to the back of the truck and no further, so you need a forklift, a dock, or an arrangement to collect from the carrier's terminal. Deliveries to a residential address carry a residential fee, quoted live at checkout. Inspect the crate before you sign for it — write any damage onto the delivery receipt, photograph it while the driver is still there, and contact us the same day. Signing a clean receipt on a damaged crate makes a claim very difficult.

Warranty

Ranger's warranty terms for this product are set out in the warranty document linked on this page, and that document is what governs. If something fails, call us before you take anything apart: dismantling a hydraulic or air-hydraulic assembly before the manufacturer has seen it is the most common way a covered fault stops being covered.
