The SRP 4008 Dynamic solves two problems that usually force a shop into a separate compressor room. It runs at a continuous 100% duty cycle, and it does so from inside a sound-attenuated cabinet rated at 69 dB(A). The second figure is the one worth pausing on. A screw compressor that can run all day is not much help if it has to live behind a wall you have not built yet, and the enclosure is what lets this machine sit in the same space as the people drawing air from it.

The other defining decision is the 2-in-1 layout. The rotary air end and the 60-gallon horizontal receiver are a single tank-mounted assembly rather than two pieces of equipment plumbed together on site. The complete unit occupies one footprint of 49.4" by 23.6" and stands 53.5" tall. It is a 7.5 HP machine on 208-230V three-phase power, producing 25 CFM at 125 PSI.

Duty cycle is the specification that changes what your shop can do

A reciprocating compressor is sized around rest. It builds pressure, shuts off, cools, and starts again, and its published output assumes it spends a meaningful part of every hour doing nothing. Push past that and the pump runs hot, carries oil into the line, and shortens its own life. A rotary screw air end has no reciprocating mass and no valve train slamming through the same cycle, so a 100% duty cycle rating is not a marketing figure. It means the machine is designed to be running when you look at it, all day, and that the 25 CFM at 125 PSI figure is what you get continuously rather than in bursts.

That matters most for the work that never lets a compressor catch up: media blasting, plasma cutting, sanding a panel with a DA, running two or three techs on impact guns during a busy morning. Those are the jobs where a piston unit that looks adequate on paper starts falling behind by mid-afternoon.

The cabinet, and why 69 dB(A) is a siting decision

Sound attenuation is treated as a comfort feature and it is really a floor-plan feature. At 69 dB(A) the SRP 4008 Dynamic does not have to be exiled to an outbuilding, which means shorter air lines, fewer fittings, less pressure drop, and no separate slab to pour. Schulz also rates the unit to operate in ambient temperatures up to 113 °F, so a corner of the shop that gets hot in July is not automatically disqualified. Give the cabinet clear air on all sides and keep its intake away from grinding dust and paint overspray.

Oil-injected air end, belt drive, and a controller that tells you what is happening

The air end is oil-injected and belt-driven. Oil injection does three jobs inside a screw compressor at once: it seals the clearance between the rotors, carries away the heat of compression, and lubricates the bearings, which is why a screw unit can hold a continuous rating that a splash-lubricated piston pump cannot. The belt drive keeps the air end and motor as separate serviceable assemblies.

Power comes from a 7.5 HP TEFC IP55 electric motor on 208-230V three-phase supply. TEFC means totally enclosed and fan-cooled, and the IP55 rating describes how well sealed the enclosure is against dust and water jets. In a shop with airborne abrasive that is the difference between a motor that survives and one that ingests grit. Starting is handled by automatic starters with phase and sequence failure detection, so the machine refuses to run on a miswired or single-phased supply instead of quietly cooking its own windings.

Operation is supervised by a 24V microprocessor controller. It gives constant readings rather than a pressure gauge and a guess, its operating parameters are adjustable, and when something is wrong it tells you which thing. On a machine expected to run unattended, that is the difference between a service call and a five-minute fix.

Will it fit, and what does it need from you?

The unit measures 49.4" long by 23.6" wide and 53.5" high, and it weighs 500 lbs. Plan the footprint plus working clearance for panel access and airflow, and remember that a 500 lb machine on a tank-mounted frame is not something two people slide across a floor.

Power is 208-230V three phase. Schulz does not publish an amp draw or a recommended breaker for this model and instead directs the installation to a certified electrician, and we pass that on exactly as written rather than guessing a circuit size for you. Confirming that three-phase service is available at your building, and that the branch circuit and disconnect are correctly sized, is the buyer's responsibility. If your shop has only single-phase service, this is not the model to order.

Specifications

Ratings, stated plainly

The 60-gallon horizontal air receiver is an ASME-rated vessel, which is the pressure-vessel standard most jurisdictions and most insurers expect to see on a shop air tank. That rating covers the tank. It is not the same document as a North American third-party electrical safety listing for the complete assembly, and it should not be read as one. Schulz does not publish such a listing for this model in the data we hold. If your insurer, your local inspector or a plant standard requires a nationally recognized testing laboratory mark on the whole machine, verify that requirement before you order rather than after the freight arrives. Shipping and delivery

This compressor ships by freight to the lower 48 states. Delivery is curbside: the driver brings the shipment to the truck, and unloading is the receiver's responsibility. Most buyers use a forklift, a loading dock, or arrange to collect from the carrier's terminal. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, quoted at checkout. Inspect the shipment before you sign for it. Walk around the crate, look for punctures, crushed corners and shifted banding, and write any damage you find on the bill of lading before the driver leaves. A signature on a clean bill of lading is the carrier's evidence that the machine arrived intact, and it is very difficult to unwind afterwards. Photographs taken at the truck cost nothing and settle claims.

Warranty and support

Schulz covers this unit with a 12-month warranty; the specification sheet records the consumer and commercial warranty each as 1 year. Do not disassemble the air end, the motor or the controller before a claim is opened.
