Description
Schulz SRP 4010 Dynamic — 10 HP Screw Compressor with an After-Cooler Fitted, 460 Volt
The specification line worth finding on this model is After Cooler: Yes. Plenty of screw compressors leave the factory without one, and the difference shows up in your shop rather than on the invoice. Compressed air leaves an air end hot and holding every bit of moisture it picked up from the room. Cool it at the machine and that water condenses where there is a drain waiting for it. Skip that step and it condenses further along instead — in your pipe runs, in your tools, in the regulator, and on whatever you were spraying.
So the SRP 4010 Dynamic is a 10 HP machine that is quietly better behaved than its size suggests: 35 CFM at 125 PSI, a continuous 100% duty cycle, an aluminium-bodied oil-injected screw air end, and a 120-gallon horizontal ASME receiver doing double duty as the chassis. This is the 460 Volt three-phase build.
What the after-cooler actually saves you
Air coming off a screw is warm, and warm air carries water in suspension. The instant it cools in a steel line it drops that water out as liquid. An after-cooler moves that event forward, into the machine, where the receiver and the drain can deal with it.
The practical results are unglamorous and worth money. Air tools live longer because their vanes and bearings are not being washed. Paint and powder work becomes repeatable rather than a gamble on the weather. Plasma consumables stop dying early. Steel pipework stops rusting from the inside and stops sending flakes downstream. None of this is a substitute for a dryer if your process needs genuinely dry air — the product data records no air dryer on this model — but it removes the bulk of the problem at source, and it makes any dryer you add later a much smaller one.
10 HP that behaves like more
Comparing a screw to a piston machine on horsepower alone flatters the piston. A reciprocating unit is rated to run for a portion of each hour; the badge figure is a peak, not a plan. This air end is rated to run without stopping, so its 35 CFM at 125 PSI is a number you can build an air system around.
The aluminium body is the other half of the sizing story. It sheds heat readily, which is what a machine that never gets a rest period actually needs, and it keeps the whole assembly at 613 lbs rather than something a small shop cannot manoeuvre. Lubrication is oil-injected and the drive is belt, with a sight glass so the oil level is a look rather than a procedure.
Living with it: noise, heat and the cabinet
This is one of the enclosed models. The sound-attenuated cabinet holds the machine to 69 dB(A) — the difference between a compressor you site around and one you simply put somewhere. Schulz also publishes an ambient operating ceiling of 113 °F, so a hot roof space or an unconditioned back room is within its declared range rather than a gamble.
The cabinet earns its keep in a second, less obvious way: it keeps shop dirt off the cooler matrix and the belt. Anything that fouls a cooler on a machine with an after-cooler costs you the very benefit you bought it for, so a closed box is not just about noise here.
Will It Fit?
Because the compressor is tank-mounted — the 2-in-1 arrangement — the whole installation is one object: 58.5" long, 27.6" wide, 39.8" tall, 613 lbs. No separate receiver to site, no interconnecting pipework to have made.
It wants a flat, solid floor; a slab that dips under one corner will slowly rack the frame. Leave working room around the panels, both for cooling airflow and so that servicing does not turn into a furniture-moving exercise.
The electrical supply is 460 Volt three-phase. Schulz gives the amp draw and the recommended breaker as "consult a certified electrician" — not an evasion but the only defensible answer, because cable sizing follows your run length and your local code. Confirming supply, panel capacity and breaker before ordering is the customer's job, and it is what usually decides whether the machine runs the week it lands or the month after.
Control
A 24 Volt microprocessor controller manages operation, with adjustable parameters and a continuous readout that makes diagnosis possible instead of speculative. The starter is automatic and magnetic, with phase and sequence failure detection — the safeguard that stops a mis-phased supply spinning the air end backwards, which is a fast and expensive way to lose a screw unit.
Perfect For
- Paint, powder and finishing work — moisture at the gun is the failure this model is built to reduce.
- Plasma cutting and air-plasma tables, where wet air eats consumables.
- One- to three-bay shops on 460 Volt three-phase wanting continuous-duty air without a large machine.
- Existing shops with steel pipework that has started shedding rust.
- Anywhere the compressor shares a room with people, thanks to the enclosure.
What's in the Box
A single factory-assembled unit: aluminium rotary air end, after-cooler, TEFC IP55 motor, magnetic starter with phase and sequence failure detection, 24 Volt microprocessor controller, sound-attenuated cabinet, 120-gallon horizontal ASME receiver, oil sight glass and a 3/4" tank outlet.
Supplied separately: the data lists no air dryer and no electronic drain valve, so a manual drain routine or the equivalent hardware is on your list. Pipework, filtration, regulation and the electrical hook-up are not included.

What the certification data does and does not say
The receiver is ASME certified: the pressure vessel is built and stamped to a recognised code. On a tank held at 125 PSI in an occupied workshop that is the meaningful assurance, and it is the one the product data actually makes.
It makes no other. There is no record of an independent third-party listing covering the assembled machine — motor, starter, controller and enclosure evaluated as one product — and a vessel stamp does not stand in for that. We are not going to imply otherwise. If your insurer, your parent company's facilities standard or your local inspector requires that kind of listing for fixed electrical plant, raise it with us before ordering and we will confirm in writing what documentation exists today.
Delivery
Freight, palletised, anywhere in the lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout for your actual address instead of estimated.
Decide how 613 lbs comes off the truck before you commit. Carriers deliver to the tailgate and no further, so a dock or forklift is the clean answer and a pallet jack is workable on flat, hard ground. Without either, book terminal pickup and take your own transport to the carrier's yard. Residential addresses are handled as residential deliveries and carry a residential fee. Schulz collection at Acworth, Georgia is also available.
Check the pallet over with the driver present and write any damage onto the bill of lading before signing — after a clean signature it is very hard to pursue.
Warranty
A 12-month warranty applies, listed in the specification block as 1 Year consumer and 1 Year commercial.
Please leave a faulty unit assembled. A screw air end that has already been taken apart cannot be assessed for what went wrong first, and that is normally the end of the claim. Ring, text or message us on 866-774-7743, describe the behaviour, and let the machine be looked at whole.
