Enclosed and hot-rated at once is the unusual combination, because an enclosure normally limits a compressor's ambient tolerance rather than being something it shrugs off.

What that buys is a siting decision you only make once: no partitioned compressor room, no dedicated extract fan, no corner of the building nobody works in. The cabinet is the product

Sound attenuation on a screw compressor is not a blanket thrown over a noisy machine. The panels have to absorb the air end's whine while still passing enough cooling air to hold the injected oil in its working temperature band. Get that balance wrong and the machine either roars or trips on high temperature. The enclosure here is built around the airflow path first and the acoustics second, which is how the same box that gets you to 69 dB(A) also carries a published ceiling of 113 °F. It does a second job nobody prints on a spec sheet, too: it keeps brake dust, grinding swarf and overspray off the cooler and the drive belt.

Why a screw, and what 100% duty cycle is really claiming

A reciprocating compressor is rated for a fraction of each hour. Ask it for more and it runs hot, thins its oil and shortens its own life. A screw has no reciprocating mass and no valve train hammering away, and it carries no rest requirement — this air end is rated to run for all sixty minutes of every hour, indefinitely.

That changes how you size an air system. With a piston machine you buy surplus capacity to cover recovery time you are not permitted to use. The 24 Volt control side, and the mistake it prevents

Will It Fit?

Give it a level, solid floor. That weight sits on four mounting feet and will find any dip in a slab, working itself loose over a season. Leave clear space around the cabinet for the cooling air it depends on and for the service panels to swing — an enclosure is only an advantage while you can still get into it.

Settle the power before you order rather than after. This build wants a 460 Volt three-phase supply. Schulz publishes both the amp draw and the recommended breaker as "consult a certified electrician", which is an honest answer rather than an omission: conductor sizing depends on the length of your run and on local code. Confirming the service, the panel capacity and the breaker is the customer's responsibility, and it is the commonest reason a machine this size sits on a pallet for a fortnight after it arrives.

Certification, stated straight

The receiver is an ASME certified pressure vessel — built and stamped to a recognised pressure-vessel code rather than simply welded to a drawing. On a tank holding 125 PSI in an occupied building, that is the claim that carries the most weight.

What the product data does not record is any third-party safety listing for the packaged machine as a whole: the electrical assembly, the starter and the enclosure taken together. A pressure-vessel stamp on the tank is not that document, and we are not going to let one imply the other. Some insurers, corporate facility standards and local electrical inspectors specifically ask for an independent listing on hard-wired plant of this size. If that applies to your building, ask us before you order and we will confirm in writing exactly what the current documentation covers.

Shipping and receiving

This travels as palletised freight within the lower 48 states, and the cost is quoted live at checkout against your own address instead of estimated from a table.

Work out the unload before you buy. A driver's obligation ends at the tailgate, so 639 lbs on a pallet wants a forklift, a dock, or a pallet jack with level ground on the other side. If none of that exists at your address, take terminal pickup and collect from the carrier's yard instead. Deliveries to a home address are residential and carry a residential fee. Collection is also available from our Schulz pickup point in Acworth, Georgia.

Inspect the crate while the driver is still there. Damage written onto the bill of lading before you sign is claimable; the same damage found after a clean signature usually is not.

Warranty

Schulz records this model at 1 Year consumer and 1 Year commercial cover, with nothing extra to buy to hold it.

One house rule protects that cover: if the air end or the motor develops a fault, leave it assembled.
