Description

Atlas 12AWFSL Alignment Scissor Lift with Two RJ-6 Rolling Jacks: Wheels-Free by Design

An alignment rack has a contradiction built into it. The vehicle has to sit on its wheels to be measured, and it has to come off its wheels to be worked on. The 12AWFSL resolves that with a wheels-free lifting system: the vehicle can be raised for alignment without being lifted by its wheels, so the measurement is taken in the right condition and the service work still happens on the same rack. This package pairs that lift with two RJ-6 rolling jacks rated 6,000 lbs each, which are the tools that actually take the weight off a wheel end when it is time to work on it.

The lift itself is rated at 12,000 lbs and takes passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks. Built-in slip plates and alignment turntables come as part of the lift rather than as accessories, and the centre is left open so there is nothing structural between a technician and the underside of the vehicle.

Why "Wheels-Free" Is Worth the Words

A wheel alignment is a measurement of geometry under load. Anything that changes how the suspension is sitting changes what the machine reads, which is why a rack that supports the vehicle correctly during measurement and still allows the wheels to be freed afterwards is doing something a plain scissor lift is not. On this lift, alignment and wheel-off work are the same setup rather than two.

The rolling jacks are the second half of that. Each RJ-6 is rated 6,000 lbs (2,722 kg), runs air over hydraulic, and carries adjustable lifting pads so it suits a range of vehicle lift points rather than one manufacturer's. A truck adapter set is included, which extends the jacks onto light-duty trucks. They are compact, they roll along the lift, and they store out of the way — an important detail in a bay that has to be walked around all day.

Safety and Control

The lock release is air-operated and single-point: one deliberate action releases the locks across the lift, rather than a sequence of manual catches released one at a time. In practice that means the descent is controlled and predictable, and there is no partially-released state to get wrong. The vehicle rests on mechanical locks while it is up, not on hydraulic pressure holding position.

Will It Fit?

  • Ramps. Extra-long 72" ramps come with the lift. They are the reason a long-wheelbase vehicle can be driven on without grounding, and they are also 72" of floor you need to allow for in front of the lift — this is the measurement most often forgotten when a bay is planned on paper.
  • Mounting. Flush mount or surface mount, your choice. Flush gives a level shop floor when the lift is down, at the cost of cutting the slab; surface mount is faster to install and easier to move later. Decide before delivery, because it changes the site preparation entirely.
  • Floor. The slab requirement is specified in the Atlas manual for this model. Meeting it is the buyer's responsibility, and on an alignment lift flatness matters as much as thickness — the rack can only be as level as what it is standing on.
  • Air. Both the lock release and the rolling jacks are air-operated. An external shop air supply is required and is not part of this package.
  • Power and clearances. The electrical requirement and the full dimensional drawing are in the manual linked on this page. If you want us to check a specific bay before you order, send the measurements and we will look at them with you.

Perfect For

  • Alignment-focused shops that also need to do brake and suspension work on the same rack.
  • General repair shops adding alignment without dedicating a bay to it exclusively.
  • Tire shops, where the rolling jacks are used far more often than the alignment hardware.
  • Serious home and collection garages with the floor and the ceiling for a full-size rack.

Atlas does not publish a full dimensional table for this package on this listing. Rather than fill the gap with numbers from a similar model, we have left it out — the manual linked on this page carries the manufacturer's own figures, and if there is a specific dimension your bay depends on, ask us and we will get it confirmed before you order.

Certification, Stated Plainly

This lift carries CE certification, which the manufacturer describes as meeting international safety standards for static and dynamic loads. It is worth understanding exactly what that is and is not. A CE marking is a declaration made against European directives. It is not the same document as an independent North American third-party lift safety listing, and it is not a substitute for one.

For most buyers that distinction never comes up. For some it is decisive: certain commercial insurers, fleet policies and local jurisdictions require the North American listing specifically, and will not accept a European declaration in its place. If you are subject to any of those, ask for the requirement in writing and talk to us before ordering. We would rather have that conversation now than after the lift is anchored to your floor.

Shipping and Delivery

This package ships as freight within the lower 48 states, in more than one piece — the lift and the two rolling jacks are separate items. Count them off against the paperwork before the driver leaves.

You must be able to unload. Commercial or residential delivery is available with a forklift at your end; if you have no way to lift the freight off the truck, take terminal pickup or use one of our warehouse pickup locations and collect with your own equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout from your ZIP code rather than from a fixed rate table.

Inspect before signing, every time. Look for bent runway edges, crushed corners and damaged jack bodies, photograph anything you find, and write it onto the bill of lading while the driver is present. Once a clean bill of lading is signed, the carrier has evidence that everything arrived in good order.

Warranty

Warranty terms for this package are not stated in the listing data, so we are not going to state them here — ask us and we will confirm Atlas's current terms for this model in writing before you order. Our claims process is on the warranty claims page.

Whatever the terms turn out to be, one rule applies to all of them: do not disassemble a suspect component before the claim is opened. An opened power unit or a stripped jack is the most common reason a genuine failure ends up outside cover. Photograph it in place, tell us what it did, and let us start the claim.

Return policy

Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.

We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
