This is the section where the protein skimmer typically sits. Water flows from this section through a slit in the baffle into Section 2.\u003c\/p\u003e \u003cp\u003e\u003cb\u003eSection 2\u003c\/b\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eis typically used as the refugium section. Having the refugium facing the front is a nice feature allowing easy maintenance and visibility of the refugium. Water flows to the right and then towards the back over the baffle through the overflow teeth. The wall with the overflow teeth moves up and down to set the water level for Section 1 and Section 2. The purpose of this tab is to provide a location for tying off 7” diameter filter socks that have drawstrings. The 7″ socks allow for longer times before the filter sock gets clogged and needs to be cleaned or replaced.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eLOCKING FILTER SOCK HOLDER\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eFilter socks snap and lock into the filter sock holders to secure the sock from falling out when it becomes clogged.
