Description

Triumph USA8000: 69 inches is the number that decides what parks underneath

People shop for a storage lift by capacity and then discover the constraint was never the weight. An 8,000 lb four-post will hold almost anything a private owner or a light-duty shop puts on it. What decides whether you actually get two cars into one space is the clear height under the runway, and on the USA8000 that is 69 inches. Measure the roof of the car you want underneath — including the aerial — and compare it to that figure before anything else.

The second number in the same family is the overall height: 82 inches. That is what your ceiling has to clear for the lift itself to stand up. Between those two figures you can answer the whole "will this work in my garage" question in about a minute, which is more than most product pages let you do.

Current offer: a free Chicago Pneumatic CP WallAIR 1.5 HP wall-mount air compressor with hose reel and inflation kit is included with this lift while supplies last. The option to add the compressor appears at checkout.

Will It Fit?

All of these are yours to confirm. It is a short list and it prevents the expensive kind of surprise.

  • Height under the runway: 69 inches. The car that lives below.
  • Overall height: 82 inches. The lift standing in your building.
  • Lift height: 73 inches at the top of the runway — the working figure, which decides whether you stand or stoop under a raised vehicle.
  • Length. 207 inches overall with the approach ramps, 175 inches without them. In a short garage the ramps are the difference between fitting and not.
  • Width. 112 inches overall, with 102.5 inches of drive-through clearance between the carriages. Drive-through is the hard limit on vehicle width, and it is a stricter test than capacity ever is.
  • Runways. 19 inches wide, 37 inches apart, 165 inches long. Check that against the track width of the vehicle you have in mind.
  • Loading and power. Lowered height is 5 inches, so consider a low front lip. The power unit is 110 volt. The lift crates at 1,600 lbs. Take the floor requirements from the manufacturer's manual — no concrete specification is published in this listing and we will not invent one.

A lift that does two jobs without choosing between them

Four-post lifts split into two camps: storage lifts that are awkward to work under, and service lifts that are wasteful as parking. The USA8000 is specified for both, and the accessories are what make that true rather than the marketing. The jack tray takes a bottle jack or a floor jack, so you can raise one end of the vehicle clear of the runways and pull wheels — the thing a plain storage lift cannot do at all. Three drip trays sit under the upper vehicle to stop oil and coolant reaching the roof of the car below, which is the complaint every stacked-parking owner eventually has.

The caster kit is included as standard, and it changes what the lift is. A lift on casters can be rolled to the side of the garage when the space is needed for something else, moved to follow a reorganised floor plan, or taken with you. That is a different proposition from a machine bolted permanently into one bay.

Locks that hold on steel, not on oil

Automatic safety locks engage at 14 different heights as the lift rises. Once a lock is engaged, the vehicle's weight is carried mechanically rather than by the hydraulic system, which is exactly why a car can sit up there for a season. Release is single point — one control, all four columns, rather than a walk around the lift freeing each in turn — and full travel takes about 40 seconds. Base plates are 12 by 10 inches, and the standard finish is grey and black.

Triumph's four-post configuration has been in service for more than 20 years, which is the manufacturer's claim and a fair thing to weigh next to the specification when you are choosing between brands.

Perfect For

  • Home garages with a height budget — where 69 inches underneath and 82 inches overall are the two numbers that settle it.
  • Enthusiasts and collectors storing a second or third vehicle safely rather than under a cover on the drive.
  • Light-duty service work, using the jack tray for wheels, brakes and suspension.
  • Shops and garages on ordinary single-phase power, since the power unit is 110 volt.

What's in the Box

  • Four-post lift structure, runways and approach ramps
  • Caster kit
  • Jack tray
  • Three drip trays
  • 110 volt power unit
  • Grey and black finish

The bottle or floor jack itself is not supplied, and neither is a rolling bridge jack.

Certification, stated plainly

The data we hold for this lift records no third-party safety listing, and we would rather tell you that than let a well-written page imply one. In a private garage it will almost certainly never come up. It comes up where an insurer, an employer, a fleet contract or a local authority requires a specific listing before a lift is used commercially. If that applies to you, ask us before ordering and we will request the manufacturer's current documentation in writing.

Shipping and delivery

As the feature list says, freight to the lower 48 states is included with this lift. Unloading is not: the crate weighs 1,600 lbs and taking it off the trailer is the receiver's job. A forklift, a suitable machine, or collecting from the carrier's local terminal will all do it, and for a home delivery the terminal is often the least stressful choice because the equipment is already there. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you select it.

Check the freight before signing for it. Bent steel, crushed corners, torn wrap and shifted banding all go on the bill of lading in front of the driver, with photographs. Signing clean is treated as confirmation that everything arrived intact, and unwinding that afterwards is difficult.

Warranty

Warranty terms run through our warranty claims page, and we will send you the manufacturer's current document on request before you order. Whatever it says, the same rule holds for every hydraulic lift on the market: do not dismantle the power unit, a cylinder or a lock assembly before the claim is open. A stripped component is normally read as a modified one and cover is lost with it. Photograph the fault, note the serial number, and call us first.
