Description

Tuxedo SC-2K: one column, and the floor underneath stays yours

Most storage lifts ask you to give up the floor. Four posts, two runways, ramps at one end and a structure you walk around for the rest of its life. The SC-2K takes the opposite approach: a single column carrying a platform, with no cross-member at floor level and nothing to drive over. What you get back is 58″ of clearance underneath — enough to park a car, a second mower, a workbench or a stack of everything that currently lives where you want to walk.

It lifts 2,000 lbs, which is the sensible envelope for a zero-turn or lawn tractor, a quad, a small utility vehicle, tyres and wheel sets, or seasonal equipment that only earns its floor space three months a year. The whole design is aimed at a residential garage: minimum footprint, maximum stored volume, and a shape that lets the room carry on being a room.

Will It Fit?

This is a ceiling-and-corner purchase, so measure before you buy rather than after:

  • Ceiling. Overall height is 84-1/2″. That is the structure itself, with nothing on it — your ceiling has to clear that, plus whatever is going to sit on the platform, plus your own margin for a garage door track.
  • Clearance underneath. 58″ from the floor to the underside of the platform. Measure the roofline of whatever you intend to park under it, not the manufacturer's headline figure for that vehicle.
  • Floor footprint. 64-5/8″ wide by 69-1/2″ deep overall. It occupies a corner, not a bay.
  • Loading height. The platform sits at 2-3/4″ when it is down, so a mower rolls on rather than being lifted on.
  • Power. Single phase, from a domestic-grade circuit — see the note below about the two voltages in our data, and confirm before an electrician quotes you.
  • Floor. A single-column lift concentrates its load and its overturning moment into one small area of slab. That makes the condition and thickness of your concrete more important here than on a lift that spreads its load across four posts. The installation manual states the floor requirement; it is not printed on this page, and we will not guess at it — ask us in writing for the floor specification before you drill.

Confirming ceiling, floor, footprint and circuit is the buyer's responsibility. A lift that does not fit the room, or a slab that will not take it, is not a warranty matter.

The voltage on this listing, stated openly

Our own data gives this machine's supply two different ways and we would rather flag it than pick one. The product title for this configuration names a 110V Duro item as included; the feature list and the stored specification sheet both describe the lift as 115V single-phase, drawing 20 Amp. In ordinary domestic terms those describe the same wall outlet, and for most buyers nothing turns on it. But if you are having a dedicated circuit installed, or you are working to a specification, confirm the supply and the exact contents of the Duro item with us in writing before you order. We will check it against the current factory sheet rather than repeat what is on the page.

Why a single column is the right shape for a garage

A four-post storage lift is the better machine if you are stacking cars, and it is the wrong machine for almost everything else a homeowner wants to store. The reason is geometry: four posts define a rectangle you cannot use, and ramps define an approach you cannot block. A single column defines nothing — the platform floats above whatever you put beneath it, and the only permanent obstacle is one post in one corner. For a mower, a quad, wheels or bulk storage, that is a far more efficient trade of floor for volume, and it is the difference between a garage with a lift in it and a garage you have surrendered to a lift.

The platform, and what it is really for

The large platform is what makes this a storage machine rather than a service one. Loading at 2-3/4″ means a wheeled machine is rolled straight on, not manhandled up a ramp or lifted onto a deck. Once it is up, the load sits on a solid platform rather than on two narrow runways, so awkward, wide and irregular items — a zero-turn deck, a set of winter wheels, cased equipment — are all sitting on something continuous. If you are storing a motorcycle, an optional motorcycle vise adapter is available for the platform; it is sold separately and is not in the crate.

Perfect For

  • Home garages with a mower, a quad or a boat's worth of seasonal kit and a car that still needs to be parked indoors.
  • Landscaping and grounds operations storing multiple machines in a building sized for fewer.
  • Workshops that need bulk overhead storage — tyres, wheel sets, cased tools — without giving a bay to a four-post.
  • Anyone with more ceiling than floor, which is the honest description of most garages.

What's in the Box

What the current product data lists: the single-column lift with its large storage platform and the 110V Duro item named in this configuration's title — see the voltage note above, and ask us to confirm exactly what that covers. The optional motorcycle vise adapter is sold separately and is not included. Nothing else is claimed as supplied, and we have not added to that list.

Certification, stated plainly

The product data we hold for this lift makes no third-party safety-listing claim, and we are not going to imply one. A manufacturer's own declaration that a machine meets a standard is a different document from an independent listing issued by a testing body after examination, and it does not stand in for one. Some home insurers, and most commercial premises policies, take an interest in that distinction for fixed lifting equipment. If it matters to your cover or to a local inspection, verify the requirement first and ask us in writing what documentation ships with this lift before you order.

Shipping and delivery

Freight to the lower 48 states, quoted live at checkout against your address so the figure is current rather than a stale number typed into a description. At 605 lbs crated, you must have a way to unload it: a forklift, a dock, or a planned lift with enough people and the right gear. If you have none of those at a home address, ask us to route the shipment to a freight terminal for collection instead — it is usually the easier answer for a residential delivery. Residential addresses carry a residential fee. Inspect the crate before you sign. Write any damage onto the bill of lading at the moment of delivery; signing clear and calling afterwards is how freight claims fail. Warehouse pickup is available, with locations listed further down this page.

Warranty

The applicable warranty is published on our warranty claims page. No coverage period is printed in this description, because the term is not stated in the product data we hold for this model and an unsourced warranty figure is worse than none. If the period matters to your decision, ask us in writing before ordering. Whatever the terms, one thing always applies: do not disassemble a component before a claim is open. A stripped power unit or a dismantled cylinder usually ends the claim, however clear the fault was. Photograph it, call us, and let the claim start first.
