Description

Valor WB-CB66-VE: it balances slowly on purpose

The specification most worth understanding on this machine is the one that sounds like a limitation. The WB-CB66-VE measures at 140 RPM — deliberately slow, where a lot of balancers spin harder. Two things follow. The sensitive electronics, the bearings and the shaft see far less stress on every cycle, which is the single largest factor in how long a balancer stays accurate. And a wheel that is turning slowly is a wheel that stops sooner and is safer to be standing next to. Accuracy does not come from speed; it comes from the sensors and the maths. Spinning a 44″ assembly hard is just wear you paid for.

The second thing that separates it in daily use is the laser indicator. In ALUS mode it lights the exact position where the weight belongs, at the six o'clock position of the wheel — the bottom, where your hands already are and where you can actually see what you are doing, rather than at the top where the traditional convention puts it. A separate internal light illuminates the inside of the wheel at the same position. Between them you stop guessing where a weight is meant to go, which is where repeat balances usually come from.

Will it take your wheels?

On a balancer, fitment is the entire specification. These are the limits:

Maximum wheel diameter 44″ (1,118 mm)
Rim diameter capacity 10″ – 28″ (up to 711 mm)
Wheel width capacity 1.5″ – 20″ (up to 508 mm)
Maximum tyre weight 150 lbs
Balancing shaft 12″ long, 40mm diameter
Measuring speed 140 RPM
Wheel shroud 38″
Power 110V, 15 Amp, single phase
Shipping weight 352 lbs

The figure to check first is the 28″ rim diameter, because that is what puts modern large-diameter alloys and light-truck wheels inside the machine's range rather than at the edge of it. Second is the 150 lb tyre weight limit, which is the one people forget when a heavy light-truck assembly turns up. And third is the 12″ long, 40mm diameter shaft — deliberately long and thick, so deep-dish and unusually offset aftermarket wheels mount properly instead of hanging off the end of a short spindle.

What it needs from your shop

  • Power: 110V, 15 Amp, single phase. A standard circuit — no three-phase supply and no special installation.
  • Floor: solid and level. A balancer measures imbalance in fractions of an ounce; a machine that rocks on an uneven floor is a machine that reports noise. This is the most common cause of a balancer that will not repeat, and it is a floor problem, not a machine fault.
  • Space and access. It ships at 352 lbs and needs room to swing the 38″ shroud fully open and to roll a wheel in from the side.

Checking the circuit, the floor and the working space before ordering is the buyer's responsibility, and none of those is a warranty matter afterwards.

Getting numbers into it without fighting the keypad

Data entry on this machine is manual, and it is done through an LED touch-panel keypad with icons rather than through layers of coded menus — you can hand it to somebody on their first morning. Distance and diameter are entered manually, and there is a retractable measuring tool built into the machine for taking them, so the gauge is always in the same place instead of in whichever pocket last used it. The machine carries five ALU standard modes and two ALU smart modes, which is what lets you hide weights behind the spokes on an alloy rather than clamping them where the customer can see them.

The details that make a shift easier

Three features exist purely because somebody who uses a balancer all day asked for them. The foot-pedal brake holds the wheel exactly where the machine stopped it, so you are not chasing the position with one hand while holding a weight in the other. Speed-Nut mounting secures the wheel to the spindle in one movement using a lead-in screw, instead of winding a nut down a long thread on every wheel — over a day of tyre work that is a real amount of time. And the weight shelf carries 14 articulated pockets, over 1.5″ deep, which is enough for a full range of weights plus cones and tooling, rather than the token tray that ends up supplemented with a plastic tub on the floor. Car and motorcycle balancing modes are both standard, and the machine drops into a power-saving standby after five minutes of inactivity.

Perfect For

  • Tyre and wheel shops running large-diameter alloys, where the 28″ rim capacity and hidden-weight modes are what the work demands.
  • General repair shops pairing it with a changer to bring tyre work in-house on an ordinary single-phase supply.
  • Motorcycle and powersports workshops, since the motorcycle mode is standard rather than an accessory.
  • Performance and restoration workshops with deep-dish and heavily offset wheels that a short spindle will not mount properly.

What's in the Box

What the current product data lists as part of the machine: the balancer with its LED touch-panel keypad, the 12″ long, 40mm diameter balancing shaft, the Speed-Nut mounting arrangement, the retractable integrated measuring tool, the laser indicator and internal wheel light, the foot-pedal braking system, the 38″ wheel shroud and the 14-pocket weight shelf. Wheel weights, cones for unusual hub arrangements and any adaptor beyond the standard mounting are not stated as included — assume they are not, and ask us before you order if you need them on day one.

Certification, stated plainly

There is no third-party safety-listing claim anywhere in the data we hold for this machine, so we are not going to make one on its behalf. It is a real distinction: a manufacturer stating that its own equipment meets a standard is not the same as an independent testing body examining it and issuing a listing. Some commercial premises policies and some equipment-inspection regimes ask for the second, specifically. If that is your situation, confirm the requirement with your insurer or inspector first, and ask us in writing what documentation ships with the machine before you buy.

Shipping and delivery

This balancer travels as freight within the lower 48 states, and the freight cost is worked out live at checkout for the address you enter rather than printed here, where it would be out of date within a season. Crated it weighs 352 lbs, which is lighter than most of the equipment on this site but still well beyond a two-person lift off a tailboard: arrange a forklift, a dock, or a proper unload with the right gear before the truck is booked. If none of that is available, ask us to route the shipment to a freight terminal for collection instead. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee. Inspect the crate before you sign for it. Anything wrong must go on the bill of lading at the moment of delivery — freight damage is a freight claim, and a signature given clear makes it a very difficult one. Warehouse pickup is available; the locations are listed further down the page.

Warranty

Warranty terms are published on our warranty claims page. This description does not state a coverage period, and that is on purpose: no term appears in the product data we hold for this machine, and we will not print a figure we cannot source next to the word warranty. Ask us in writing before you order if the period forms part of your decision. Whatever the terms say, one rule is constant — do not take anything apart before the claim is open. On a balancer that applies particularly to the sensors and the shaft assembly: once they have been disturbed, nobody can tell what the original fault was, and the claim usually ends there. Photograph it, call us, and let the claim be raised first.
