AMGO PRO-30 HD: 30,000 lbs on a 307 1/8″ Footprint

The PRO-30 HD is the compact end of AMGO's super-duty four-post range, and what recommends it is not the rating on the plate but what it does with it. It carries 30,000 lbs from a structure that measures 307 1/8″ overall with the ramps fitted, raises to a maximum lifting height of 74 13/16″, and — the figure that actually decides how you work under a bus — sets that load down on mechanical locks at 71 11/16″ to the top of the runway. Nearly the whole of its travel is usable on steel rather than on oil pressure.

Nothing has been softened to achieve that. The lock stack, the cable drive and the hydraulic package are the same super-duty components carried by the longer models in the family; the deck is simply shorter. A full cycle runs 133S from a 2.0 HP power unit, which is a lift geared for load rather than for turning bays over quickly.

Before you plan the bay: the width figures here are contested

AMGO’s current published specification for the PRO-30 does not agree with several dimensions this page carries. Against the figures printed below, the maker gives a narrower overall width, a narrower gap between the columns, a narrower drive-through clearance, a different span for the runway adjustment and a heavier gross weight. It also names dimension B differently — this page calls that letter the overall length without ramps, the maker calls it the outside edge of the crossbeams, a different measurement with its own figure.

We are asserting neither side, and not quietly deleting ours either. Our numbers have been republished digit for digit by other sellers for years, so the honest description is that the manufacturer contradicts us, not that we already know who is wrong.

Confirm the overall width, the column spacing and the drive-through clearance with us in writing before you plan the bay or commit to a drive-through path. Those three decide whether the lift fits between your walls and whether a chassis can be driven through it, and they are the figures that cannot be put right after the floor is marked out.

Will It Fit?

Read these against the room you actually have, ceiling first, and read them alongside the section above — the width figures are the contested ones.

  • Length. 307 1/8″ with the ramps in place; the structure alone is listed here at 256 7/16″, under the dimension label the maker disputes. Ramps need approach room in front of them on top of either figure.
  • Width — contested. This page lists 149 3/8″ across the outside of the columns, 131 13/16″ clear between them, and runway outside edges from 92 15/16″ to 102 3/4″ — roughly 92″ to 102″ of deck. The maker publishes narrower. Do not mark a bay out against them unconfirmed.
  • Ceiling. The lift stands 91 13/16″. Add the tallest vehicle you intend to raise and the rise you want to use, up to a maximum lifting height of 74 13/16″. Measure to the lowest obstruction, not the roof.
  • Drive-through — contested, see above. This page lists 117 13/16″ between the carriages; the maker publishes a narrower clearance. If a wide-bodied chassis has to pass through, get this one in writing before you order.
  • Working underneath. Minimum height is 10 7/16″ at rest. At full rise there is 65 7/8″ underneath, with the locks holding at 62 3/4″ — work to the lock figure, because the locks are where the lift rests.
  • Power. A 2.0 HP power unit. Supply voltage, circuit rating and disconnect are in the installation manual linked further down this page — confirm them with a licensed electrician before the lift lands.
  • Concrete. The required slab depth and strength are stated in that manual. Meeting them is the buyer’s responsibility, and at a 30,000 lb rating it is not a box-ticking exercise. If nobody knows what your floor is, core it and find out first.

Layered Safety, Rather Than One Device

Holding a load and raising it are different problems. A mechanical self-locking safety device with an air-driven lock release drops the platform onto steel locks at rest, so a parked vehicle is not supported by oil pressure and a seal, and multiple primary safety locks give the mechanism more than one place to engage.

Running independently of those is the cable-slack protection system. On a cable-driven four-post the realistic hazard is not a cable exploding; it is one corner losing tension while the other three keep pulling, quietly taking the deck out of level with a loaded truck on it. AMGO specifies aircraft-standard cable throughout, chosen because its fatigue characteristics are published rather than assumed.

Runways, Traction and the Hydraulic Package

The runways are extra-wide diamond plate and slide between a narrow and a wide setting; the span this page prints for that adjustment, 44 7/8″ to 54 3/4″, is one of the contested figures. Set narrow, a technician keeps reach across the underbody; set wide, dual-rear-wheel tyres sit fully on the deck instead of overhanging an edge. The diamond pattern is a traction decision, and it matters on the morning a wet vehicle is driven up the ramps.

A single heavy-duty cylinder does the lifting, with quality oil seals and a compensation valve. The valve governs the descent, and descent is where an undersized hydraulic package announces itself: a controlled lowering rather than a loaded platform dropping at whatever rate the weight dictates.

Certification, Stated Plainly

This lift ships with an ETL-certified AMGO power unit — a third-party listing of the electrical assembly against a recognised safety standard, and the certification claimed for this model. What it is not is a North American third-party structural certification of the lift itself. Those are separate documents covering separate things. If your insurer, your fleet policy or a local authority requires the lift to carry a third-party lift-safety listing, get the requirement named in writing and speak to us before ordering.

Shipping and Delivery

Freight only, lower 48 states. The gross weight this page carries is 5,461 lbs and the maker publishes a heavier one, so plan the unload against the larger of the two. Delivery day needs two things arranged in advance.

Unloading is yours. A forklift with capacity to spare, a telehandler or an overhead crane will do it; the delivering driver will not. Where a site cannot unload, terminal pickup is the calmer route, and AMGO warehouse pickup is listed further down this page.

Inspection is also yours, and it has a deadline: the moment you sign. Count the crates against the packing list, photograph any crush, gouge or bend, and write what you find on the bill of lading in front of the driver. A claim raised the following week starts from behind. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, and freight is quoted live at checkout against your ZIP code.

Warranty

AMGO backs this lift with warranty coverage on the structure, the hydraulics and the electrical components; the terms and the claim process are on our warranty claims page. One practical rule: raise the claim before you take anything apart. A cylinder opened up for a look or a power unit stripped on the bench is the commonest way a legitimate failure ends up outside cover. Photograph it, describe the symptom, and call us first.
