Description

Atlas 66,000 lb Mobile Column Lift System: The Set One Person Can Move

The Maxima 4030BC (Atlas ATEML-4030BC) is the lightest set in this column family, and that is its argument. Four columns, 16,500 lbs of capacity each, 66,000 lbs across the system — and, critically, 1,600 lbs per column rather than more. A column that weighs less is a column that gets repositioned, and a mobile lift that never gets repositioned is just an expensive fixed one.

Weight per column is the specification nobody compares and everybody lives with. Each of these rides on its own hydraulic pallet-jack chassis: pump the handle, the column lifts onto its wheels, and one technician walks it across the floor — or out of the building onto a level slab, which this system is explicitly rated to do.

Growing the System Later

The four-column set is a starting point, not a ceiling. Adding two more columns takes the system to 99,000 lbs; adding four takes it to 132,000 lbs. Extra columns also extend the maximum wheelbase the set can straddle, which for many shops is the more useful half of the upgrade — long chassis defeat a lift before heavy ones do. The columns already in service are not replaced or modified when the set grows.

Will It Fit?

  • Ceiling. 145" (12' 1") overall column height, lifting to 67" (5' 7") at the fork. Measure to the lowest fitting above the working area.
  • Storage and doors. Columns rest at 88 1/2" (7' 4 1/2"), which usually clears an internal roller door — worth checking if the plan is to store them in another room.
  • Floor plan. Each column is about 43 1/2" (3' 7 1/2") wide and 55 1/2" (4' 7 1/2") deep, on a 13 1/4" body. Four columns need somewhere to live between jobs.
  • Slab. Level concrete with a minimum thickness of six inches, indoors or out. Level is the harder requirement of the two on a multi-column set, and the one people discover late.
  • Power. One ordinary 110V single-phase outlet, for charging only. No dedicated circuit, no three-phase, no installation.
  • Your responsibility. Slab depth, slab level, ceiling clearance and door heights are the buyer's to verify before delivery. Send us the measurements if you would like a second pair of eyes on them.

Battery Power, and What a Charge Actually Covers

Each column carries a 2.2 Kw 24V DC motor and two rechargeable batteries. A charge is good for something like 10 to 20 lifts, depending how heavy the vehicles are, and recharging is done through the attached 110V single-phase cord. For most shops that means charging overnight and never thinking about it — the columns are simply ready in the morning.

The reason to care about DC rather than mains power is not running cost, it is cable. A corded column is limited to where the outlets are and leaves a trip hazard across the working area. A battery column can be positioned by where the axle is.

Four Columns, One Vehicle

All columns operate simultaneously from one control, with an electronic system keeping them synchronised through the lift. Every column has its own LCD screen showing its exact height, so the operator can verify the set is level by reading numbers rather than sighting along a chassis. Load-holding is deliberately doubled: hydraulic flow control regulates the movement, mechanical locks hold the parked vehicle. An emergency stop button sits on every column, not just at a master station.

Four 32' connecting cables come with the set — enough run to spread the columns around a long wheelbase rather than gathering them near a controller.

Lifting by the Tire

The forks adjust for tire diameters from 19" to 44". Lifting at the tire rather than at a frame point removes the question that slows down mixed-fleet work: which adapter, which lift point, which diagram. If the tire is in range, the column takes it. On a yard where no two vehicles share an underside, that is the difference between a lift anyone can use and one only the experienced technician will touch.

Perfect For

  • Smaller truck shops taking their first step into heavy lifting, where 66,000 lbs is enough and floor space is not.
  • Mixed municipal fleets — refuse, plant, utility bodies — that defeat any single fixed lift geometry.
  • Mobile and on-site service operations that need the lift to travel between buildings or work outdoors.
  • Shops planning to grow, given the four-to-six-to-eight column upgrade path.

What's in the Box

  • Four mobile columns, each with a 2.2 Kw 24V DC motor and two batteries
  • Four 32' column connecting cables
  • LCD height display and emergency stop on every column
  • Adjustable forks covering 19" to 44" tire diameters
  • 110V single-phase charging cord

Maxima tripod support stands for wheel-off work are optional and not supplied with this package. Ask us about them before ordering if wheel service is part of the plan.

Certification

ALI certified. That means an independent body has listed this lift against a North American safety standard — not that the manufacturer has declared its own product compliant, which is a different and much weaker thing. Insurers, fleet policies and some local authorities ask for the third-party listing by name. If you are subject to one of those requirements, have it stated in writing and we will confirm the documentation for this model with the manufacturer before you buy.

Shipping and Delivery

Ships as freight to the lower 48 states. Four columns total 6,400 lbs, at 1,600 lbs each — the lightest columns in the family, and still a forklift job. No delivery driver will unload this, and no tail-lift will help.

Where a site cannot receive it, terminal pickup or one of our warehouse pickup locations lets you collect with your own equipment. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee. Freight is quoted live at checkout from your ZIP code, so you see your own lane rather than an average.

On arrival, count the columns and look each one over before the driver leaves. Any dent, crush or missing item goes on the bill of lading, in writing, at that moment. Photographs taken next morning are worth much less than a note on the paperwork.

Warranty

A 2 Year Limited warranty applies; the claims route is on our warranty claims page. Please do not take a suspect column apart before the claim is opened — an opened motor housing or battery pack is the most common way a legitimate failure falls outside cover. Photograph the fault, tell us what happened, and let us start the claim.
