Description

HD-973P: a three-car stacker with nothing sticking up above it

Most triple-stack parking systems are ruled out by the building, not the budget. They carry gantries, header beams and lifting mechanisms above the top platform, and by the time you add the height of the vehicle up there you need an industrial roof. The HD-973P is engineered the other way: the mechanism does not project high over the top of the lift, so the columns finish at 157.75" (4,007 mm) and three vehicles stack inside a building that would not take a conventional tri-level system at all.

Everything else follows from that decision. Two independently operated platforms carry 7,000 lbs on the upper deck and 9,000 lbs on the lower, with the third vehicle parked on the floor underneath. It suits sedans, SUVs and full-size trucks, indoors or outdoors, as a single unit or in a row.

Independent platforms, and why tethered ones frustrate people

On a typical multi-level stacker the bottom platform hangs from the upper one on chains or cables. Both move together, the spacing between them is fixed, and getting at the middle vehicle means moving the top vehicle too. The HD-973P drives each platform separately. You lower the deck you want, take the car out, put it back, and nothing else in the stack has moved.

Fixed spacing has a second cost that is easy to miss: it forces every vehicle in the stack to be roughly the same height. Independent platforms let you set the gaps to suit what you actually own, so a tall pickup on the lower deck and a low coupe above it can each have the clearance they need.

Will It Fit?

  • Ceiling height. Column height is 157.75" (4,007 mm). This is the figure that decides the purchase — measure to the lowest obstruction, not the apex.
  • Floor space. 110.5" (2,807 mm) wide by 241.5" (6,134 mm) long, with 100" (2,546 mm) between the columns.
  • Drive-through clearance. 86.5" (2,197 mm). The lift can be configured for drive-through operation, up to three deep.
  • Upper platform. Maximum rise 138.5" (3,518 mm), maximum lifting height 144" (3,667 mm), runways 180.25" (4,578 mm) long, 90 seconds to full rise.
  • Lower platform. Maximum rise 70" (1,783 mm), maximum lifting height 75" (1,906 mm), runways 165.5" (4,204 mm) long, 50 seconds to full rise.
  • Runways. 19" (482 mm) wide, set 35" (889 mm) or 41" (1,041 mm) apart.
  • Power. 220 VAC / 60 Hz / 1 Ph.

Confirming your ceiling, floor plan and electrical supply is the buyer's responsibility, and a machine that will not stand in the room is not a warranty matter. The base frames are designed to spread the load, which is what makes this suitable for ordinary residential or commercial concrete rather than a specially poured pad, and it can be installed on asphalt when concrete footers are used. Our record does not state a required slab thickness or strength; that is in the installation manual linked on this page and we will confirm it in writing before you order if you ask.

The wheelbase tables, which decide what you can actually park

Capacity on a four-post platform assumes the weight is spread along the runways. Something heavy and short concentrates it, and the platform derates. Both decks publish the relationship, and they are not the same:

Upper platform — 7,000 lbs rated Minimum wheelbase
Full rated capacity 135" (3,429 mm)
75 percent 115" (2,921 mm)
50 percent 95" (2,413 mm)
25 percent 80" (2,032 mm)
Lower platform — 9,000 lbs rated Minimum wheelbase
Full rated capacity 125" (3,175 mm)
75 percent 105" (2,667 mm)
50 percent 85" (2,159 mm)
25 percent 70" (1,778 mm)

Per-axle limits apply as well: 3,500 lbs (1,588 kg) front and rear on the upper deck, 4,500 lbs (2,041 kg) front and rear on the lower. Take the shortest, heaviest vehicle you intend to store and find its line before you commit.

Locks, cables and the things that hold it all up

Multi-position safety locks sit in every column at 4" (102 mm) spacing, giving 31 locking positions on the upper platform and 13 on the lower. That fine spacing is what makes variable parking heights practical rather than theoretical — you are choosing a height, not accepting the nearest notch a foot away.

Lifting is done by a hydraulic cylinder enclosed underneath each platform set, working with heavy-duty 3/8" lifting cables. Behind the primary locks are redundant anti-fall spring-loaded catches that arrest downward movement of either platform if a cable ever fails, plus independent backup slack-cable safety latches. An integrated hydraulic flow restrictor gives a controlled descent if a hose ruptures. Release is push-button pneumatic, and a padded trip bar with a limit switch stops the lower vehicle before it can touch the platform above it — the single most likely thing to go wrong in daily use, and it has a switch dedicated to it.

Perfect For

  • Home garages with a normal roof that want three vehicles in one bay's floor space.
  • Collectors who need to reach the middle car without shuffling the other two.
  • Dealerships and small lots tripling storage on the same footprint, in rows if needed.
  • Sedans, SUVs and full-size trucks, which is the vehicle range this lift names for itself.

What's in the Box

From this product's own feature list: two independently operated platforms with full-length aluminium decking, powerful hydraulic cylinders with heavy-duty 3/8" lifting cables, multi-position safety locks in each column, adjustable lock ladders, automatic safety locks with redundant anti-fall devices, independent backup slack-cable safety latches, the push-button pneumatic safety release, the padded trip bar with limit switch, the integrated hydraulic flow restrictor, the electric-hydraulic power system and grease nipples on every sheave and sheave axle. Drive-through ramps and 4,500 lb air-hydraulic rolling jacks are listed as optional, not supplied — decide on those with the order.

Certification, stated plainly

Our product record for the HD-973P does not carry a third-party safety-listing document. That describes what we hold rather than passing judgement on the machine — such a document may well exist and simply not be attached to this listing. The distinction worth understanding is between a manufacturer declaring conformity on its own authority and an independent body examining a design and issuing a listing against it, because insurers, local code officials and some fleet policies ask for the second kind by name. Multi-level vehicle storage also attracts planning and building-control attention in a way an ordinary service lift does not. If any of that applies to you, ask us in writing before you order and we will get a written answer from the manufacturer rather than leave you to assume.

Shipping and delivery

This item ships free within the lower 48 states, so there is nothing to add at checkout. The shipment weighs 5,296 lbs.

The carrier delivers to the kerb. Settle unloading before the truck is booked: a forklift or telehandler on site, or collection from the freight terminal, which many buyers find simpler for a machine with columns this long. A residential address carries a residential fee, and warehouse pickup can be arranged for this brand — call us to set it up. Inspect the shipment before you sign and record any damage on the bill of lading at the time — a clean signature is very hard to argue against afterwards.

Warranty

The warranty document that governs this lift is linked on this page; read the term and the exclusions there rather than a paraphrase of them. Whatever the terms, one rule holds: do not disassemble a component you mean to claim on. Photograph the fault, leave the assembly intact and contact us first, because a stripped part is the most common reason a claim that should have been paid is refused.
