Description
Chicago Pneumatic RCP-1330G: a truck-mount compressor that needs no building, no circuit and no electrician
Every other compressor on this site starts with a question about your electrical panel. This one does not. The RCP-1330G is driven by a 13 HP Honda petrol engine, so the machine goes to the job instead of the job coming to the machine — a service truck, a fleet yard, a breakdown at the roadside, a site with no power on it yet. It is also, per this product's own feature list, Made in the USA, which is a rarer claim on shop equipment than it used to be and an easy one to check with us.
The specification is built for that life rather than for a clean workshop corner: a solid cast iron cylinder, a fully enclosed belt guard, a cold start valve, a 30 Gallon ASME/CRN certified tank with safety valves, and an operating pressure up to 175 PSI. Two-stage, with a 2 Year warranty that this listing states includes valves.
The engine features that matter on a working truck
Three details on this machine exist because somebody used one for a living.
Engine slowdown, via a pilot valve. When the tank is up to pressure and nothing is drawing air, the engine drops to a slow idle instead of running at working speed against a closed system. That saves fuel across a day of intermittent use, cuts the noise you and everyone nearby live with between jobs, and reduces the hours you put on the engine to do the same work.
Cold start valve. A compressor pump is a load an engine has to turn over from cold, and on a winter morning that is exactly when a pull start is least welcome. The cold start valve unloads the pump so the engine starts against far less resistance.
Both electric and recoil start, and an oil monitor. 12 Volt button start when the battery is good, a recoil pull when it is not — the honest arrangement for equipment that lives outdoors and gets used irregularly. The engine comes with a start key and panel, so it cannot be started by anyone who wanders past your truck, and the oil monitor covers the failure that destroys engines nobody dips daily. The battery itself is not supplied.
Delivered air: two figures, and a straight answer about the rest
This product's description states the machine delivers up to 25.25 CFM. A separate specification field on the same product records 22 CFM. We are printing both with their sources rather than choosing the more impressive one.
Two further flow figures exist in our data with no unit attached to them at all, and we are not going to publish those, because a number with no unit is not a specification — it is a number. If your buying decision turns on delivered air at a particular pressure, ask us and we will confirm the rating against Chicago Pneumatic's current data sheet for this model, in writing, before you order. The same applies to the engine rating: the 13 HP Honda figure comes from the product's own feature list, while another field carries a different, unitless number.
Cast iron, two stages, and a 30 gallon tank on a moving vehicle
The two-stage layout — compress, cool, compress again — is what allows an operating pressure up to 175 PSI from a machine this size, and pressure headroom is what makes a 30 Gallon receiver workable on a truck. You cannot carry a large tank on a service body, so the stored energy has to come from pressure rather than volume.
The solid cast iron cylinder is there for heat, which on a truck has nowhere convenient to go; iron mass absorbs it instead of letting it build in the cylinder. The fully enclosed belt guard is a safety item on equipment used outdoors by someone who is also doing three other things. The receiver is ASME/CRN certified with safety valves and a pull-type drain — pull-type because a drain you have to crouch under a truck body to reach never gets used.
Will It Fit? Mounting, weight and services
Confirming that the unit fits and that the vehicle can carry it is the buyer's responsibility, and on a truck mount that means load as well as space.
- Overall size: 45" long, 19" wide, 38" high in our data. Measure the deck or body space including access for the recoil handle, the oil check and the drain.
- Weight: 378 lbs. Check the payload you have left, and mount it properly — a compressor that shifts on a moving vehicle is a serious matter, not an inconvenience.
- Battery: not included. A 12 Volt battery is needed for electric start; recoil start works without one.
- Tank outlet: 3/4".
- Fuel, exhaust and ventilation: this is an engine-driven machine. It must be run in open air, never in an enclosed body or a closed workshop, and it needs clearance for cooling and exhaust.
Perfect For
- Service trucks and mobile mechanics — the application this machine is designed around.
- Fleet and agricultural maintenance where the equipment is far from a socket.
- Construction and site work before mains power is available.
- Buyers who specifically want a machine made in the USA with a Honda engine on it.
What's in the Box
The compressor as a complete engine-driven unit: 13 HP Honda engine with start key and panel, two-stage pump with solid cast iron cylinder, fully enclosed belt guard, cold start valve, engine slowdown pilot valve, oil monitor, 12 Volt electric and recoil start, and the 30 Gallon ASME/CRN certified tank with safety valves and pull-type drain.
Not included: the battery. That is stated plainly in the product's own feature list and it is the item most likely to be discovered on the day. Also not supplied are fuel, mounting hardware for your vehicle, air hose and any downstream filtration or drying.

Certification, stated plainly
The certification this machine's data claims is specific and real: the tank and safety valves are ASME/CRN certified. On a pressure vessel that travels on a moving vehicle, that is the claim worth having.
It is not a third-party safety listing of the whole machine, and we will not describe it as one. Nothing in this product's data speaks to the engine or the assembly in those terms. Where a fleet policy, an insurer or a site standard sets a documentation requirement for equipment carried on a vehicle, ask us before ordering and we will establish in writing what this model can evidence — that is a much better sequence than finding out during an audit.
Shipping and delivery
The unit ships as palletised freight within the lower 48 states, free of charge.
Have a plan for taking it off the truck. 378 lbs on a pallet needs a forklift, a dock or a pallet jack on level ground; the carrier's driver is responsible only as far as the tailboard. If you have none of that, terminal pickup lets you collect it with your own vehicle — which for a truck-mount compressor is often the natural choice anyway. A home address counts as a residential delivery and carries a residential fee.
Inspect it before you sign. Check the engine, the belt guard, the tank and the fittings while the driver is present, and write any damage or missing item onto the bill of lading before signing it. That note is the basis of a freight claim; a clean signature says everything arrived as it should.
Warranty
RCP two-stage compressors carry a full 2 Year warranty which this listing states includes the valves — the component most agreements exclude first.
Keep the routine — clean oil, clean fuel, guards on, and let the cold start valve do its job rather than forcing a cold engine against a loaded pump. If a fault develops, stop the machine and call us before anything is dismantled. A pump or engine that has already been opened cannot be assessed for what failed first, and that is exactly what a claim turns on. Photograph the fault as you found it.
