Description
Katool KT-T835: assist arms on both sides, so the tyre is held instead of fought
Ask anyone who has mounted a run-flat or a stiff low-profile tyre on their own what they actually needed, and the answer is a third hand. The KT-T835 has two: a double-side assist arm set that presses and holds the bead down while the mounting head does its work. That is the feature this machine is bought for, and it is why it sits above the standard swing-arm changers in the range rather than beside them.
The rest of the machine is built to the same brief. A 186mm stainless bead breaker cylinder for tyres that have set on the rim. A bead blast seater head with a post tank, so a stubborn bead seats on one burst of stored air rather than on a slow build from the shop line. And 582 lbs of machine underneath it all, which is not a boast — mass is what stops a changer walking across the floor when the bead breaker lets go.
What a double-side assist arm changes
On a bare changer, mounting a stiff tyre is a sequence of compromises: lever, hold, reposition, hope. The assist arms take the holding out of your hands and apply it evenly on both sides, which does two things. It makes the job repeatable rather than a matter of technique, so a less experienced technician gets the same result as your best one. And it takes the load off the rim edge, because most rim damage in a tyre bay happens in the moment somebody is improvising with a lever and a knee.
The bead breaker and the seater, in that order
The 186mm stainless bead breaker cylinder is sized for tyres that do not want to move — winter tyres that have sat on a rim for a season, commercial light-truck tyres, anything with a heavy sidewall. Stainless matters here because the cylinder lives in the dirtiest, wettest part of the machine.
At the other end of the job, the bead blast seater head with post tank stores air and dumps it through the head in a single event. Low-profile and stiff-sidewall tyres are exactly the ones that will not seat off a normal inflation line, and they are the ones that eat the most time in a busy bay. The inflation gauge is pedal-controlled, so both hands stay on the tyre while air goes in.
Two published clamping ranges: read this before you buy
We would rather flag this than have you discover it with a wheel in your hands. Two different clamping ranges are published for the KT-T835 and they do not agree.
- The description and specification table on this page give outside clamping 13" to 26" and inside clamping 14" to 28".
- A separate specification field on this listing gives outside clamping 10" to 24" and inside clamping 12" to 26".
- Maximum wheel diameter is given as 41"/1040mm in the table, while another field puts maximum tyre diameter at roughly 48".
Maximum wheel width is consistently 15"/350mm. If your rims sit anywhere near the top or bottom of any of these ranges, message us with the sizes before you order and we will get the current factory sheet confirmed. We are not going to average two numbers and print the result as a specification.
What protects the rim
The alloy steel jaws are given a carburization treatment 0.8 to 1.1mm deep and a whole quenching process, so the gripping surface is hard while the jaw body keeps its toughness, and jaw covers go over them. The mounting head is stainless, solution-treated and interface-polished, with a plastic cover where it meets the rim, and a spade cover shields the rim edge as the tool passes. On alloy wheels this is the entire argument for buying a proper machine: one scuffed rim on a customer car costs more than the difference between this changer and a cheap one.
The pneumatics get the same attention. A high-quality filter and lubricator condition the air going in, which is what actually determines how long the cylinders and valves last, and the closed body keeps grit and swarf out of the mechanism.
Will It Fit?
- Power. 110V 1PH/60HZ as specified for North America, with a 220V option listed on this product. Confirm which one you want before it ships.
- Air. Regulated compressed air at 0.8 to 1.0 MPa (116 to 145psi). Size the compressor for the machine, particularly if you intend to use the bead blaster often.
- Floor and weight. 582 lbs on a level, solid floor, with room to swing the arm and roll a wheel in from either side.
- Anchoring. Bolt it down if the installation calls for it. A bead breaker on a heavy tyre puts real force through the base.
Perfect For
- Busy tyre shops where the awkward jobs arrive daily rather than occasionally.
- Performance and wheel retailers handling low-profile and run-flat tyres on expensive rims.
- Light-truck and commercial work, which is what the 186mm bead breaker cylinder is sized for.
- Shops training newer technicians, because assist arms make a difficult job repeatable instead of a matter of experience.

Certification, stated plainly
No certification mark or third-party listing is claimed for this machine in the data we hold, and we are not going to imply one by writing a badge into the copy. For most tyre equipment purchases that is a non-issue. It stops being one when an insurer, a local code, or a fleet or municipal contract names a specific listing your equipment has to carry. If that is your position, ask us before you order and we will request the current documentation from the manufacturer rather than guess at it here.
Shipping and delivery
The KT-T835 ships by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states. This item ships free, so there is nothing to add at checkout. It arrives crated on a standard trailer and unloading is the receiver's job — a forklift, a machine, or a plan and some help. If none of those is realistic, collecting at the carrier's local terminal is usually simpler, because the terminal is already equipped. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you choose that option.
Inspect it before you sign. Check the crate for crushed corners, punctures, shifted banding and anything bent, and write what you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. Photograph it. A clean delivery receipt is the carrier's evidence that the machine arrived intact, and reopening that afterwards is close to impossible.
Warranty
A one-year warranty on all product parts is published for this machine, and Katool also publishes a written warranty document — ask us for the current copy before you order if the coverage is part of your decision, since the terms are the manufacturer's to state and they change.
One rule holds whoever built the machine: if something fails, do not strip the mounting head, the bead breaker cylinder or the pneumatic assembly before a claim is open. A disassembled component is normally treated as a modified one, and that is the quickest way to lose coverage you would otherwise have had. Photograph the fault, note the serial number, and call first.
Contact us with your rim sizes and we will confirm the clamping range against the current factory sheet before you order.
