Description

LANAIR XT200 Waste Oil Heater Value Package 4

Please note: this package is configured for a wall-mount vent.

The XT200 is not a ducted heater and does not pretend to be one — its spec sheet lists the ductable option as "call" rather than a straight yes. What it has instead is a piece of hardware the ducted cabinets do not need: adjustable locking louvers on the discharge, backed by an internal fan. You aim the air, then lock the setting. That is a genuinely different way of solving the same problem, and in a single open bay it is usually the better one, because a louver costs nothing to adjust and a duct run costs a day's labour to change.

The cabinet is fine-grained galvanized steel, specified for rust resistance in the damp, salted, solvent-laden air of a working shop, and the fan sits inside it rather than bolted on, which keeps the noise down in a space where people are already competing with air tools. Rated at up to 200,000 BTUH over roughly 5,000 square feet at 1.44 GPH, this package pairs the heater with a wall-mount chimney kit sized for a 16' eave.

Will It Fit?

  • Cabinet. 24" x 40.25" x 48" (L x W x H), suspended, with a hanging weight of 413 lbs. Have someone qualified confirm the structure at your chosen mounting point.
  • Discharge direction. Because you are aiming heat with louvers rather than piping it, the hanging position matters more here than on a ducted unit. Hang it where the air it throws covers the working area, not where the fixings were easiest.
  • Wall penetration. The supplied kit is the wall-mount configuration in 6" Class A pipe, sized on a 16-foot eave height. If your eave is materially different, tell us before ordering.
  • Services. 120V at 20 amps on a dedicated circuit, and compressed air at 2 CFM and 12-15 PSI available the whole time the burner is firing.

Clearances to combustible materials, the wall penetration detail, the structural assessment of the hanging point, and any permit or inspection your local authority requires are the buyer's responsibility. We supply the equipment and the manufacturer's paperwork; the sign-off is between you, your installer and your inspector.

Louvers, an internal fan, and a galvanized shell

These three details look like trim on a specification sheet and they are not. Adjustable locking louvers let one heater serve a bay that changes use — point the air across the floor in winter, angle it away from a paint job, lock it and forget it. An internal fan matters because a shop heater runs for hours at a time and everything that adds to the background noise level in a workshop makes it a worse place to work. And the galvanized cabinet is about where these things live: hung in the roof of a building full of moisture, road salt off vehicles and airborne solvent, where an untreated steel enclosure ages quickly.

Behind the panels is a 12 gauge cold-rolled steel combustion chamber and the maintenance access the XT range is built around — a hinged chamber door for clean-outs and a side access panel to the collector box. Waste oil combustion leaves ash and carbon; how easily you can get at it is a running cost, not a detail.

The chimney kit, itemised

Venting is where waste oil installations stall, usually because half the components were ordered and the other half were assumed. This package ships the wall-mount kit complete, specified for a 16' eave:

Component Qty
Class A chimney pipe, 24" 1
Class A chimney pipe, 36" 1
Chimney cap 1
Roof flashing, 0/12 to 6/12 pitch 1
Storm collar 1
Finishing collar 1
Slip connector, 14" 1
Black pipe, 24" 4
Black tee pipe with cap 1
Roof support bracket 1
Elbow, 90° 1

Two things in that list are worth understanding. The tee with a cap is a cleaning access point, not a fitting — you will use it. And the black pipe is single-wall connector pipe for the run inside the heated space, while the Class A sections are the insulated pipe that passes through the building fabric. They are not interchangeable, and swapping one for the other is a fire risk rather than a shortcut.

Perfect For

  • Single-bay and open-plan workshops up to around 5,000 square feet where louvered air beats ductwork.
  • Leased or membrane-roofed buildings where a wall penetration is the only realistic vent route.
  • Independent garages and tyre shops producing a steady drain-oil volume and currently paying to dispose of it.
  • Buyers who want the whole vent package in one order rather than chasing collars and brackets separately.

What's in the Box

  • Lanair XT200 waste oil heater
  • Wall-mount chimney kit as itemised above, sized for a 16' eave

Oil storage, transfer pump and oil line runs are configured per site. If you are unsure what you already have on site, check with us first.

Approvals — and what an approval does not cover

Lanair states that all of its units are UL listed. That is a real and useful claim, and it is more than a good deal of shop equipment can say. It is worth being clear about what it does not do for you: a product listing is about the appliance, not about your installation. Clearances, flue routing, combustion air, the wall or roof penetration and the storage of fuel oil are all governed by local mechanical and fire codes, and an inspector or insurer can require things of the installation that no product listing addresses. Treat the listing as the first document you will be asked for, not the last.

Shipping and Delivery

Shipped as freight within the lower 48 states, free of charge. This is a multi-piece consignment — the heater plus the vent components — so verify the piece count against the paperwork while the truck is still on site. Unloading is the receiver's responsibility, so line up a forklift and an operator or take terminal pickup and collect with your own equipment. Residential delivery is available and carries an additional fee. Anything damaged or short must be written on the bill of lading before you sign it.

Warranty

The manufacturer's warranty applies; current terms and the claims process are on our warranty claims page. Please open a claim before dismantling anything. Pulling the burner apart to see what went wrong destroys the evidence the assessment depends on, and it is the usual reason a straightforward claim turns into a slow one. Photograph the fault as found, note the hour meter, and call us before you start.
