Description
Tuxedo CR-3000 Car Rotator - 3,000 lb Capacity
Tuxedo CR-3000 Car Rotisserie
Two hydraulic jacks rated at 6,000 lb each sit under a rotisserie rated to hold 3,000 lb. That is not an accounting error — it is the design decision that matters most on a machine like this. A rotisserie does not just carry a body shell, it carries it eccentrically, swung out on arms and rolled over on its side, and a jack sized only for the static rating is a jack working at its limit every time the load goes past the horizontal. The CR-3000 gives you height adjustment from hardware with a great deal of headroom over the rated load.
The second choice worth noticing is underneath: six phenolic resin swivel casters. Phenolic is a hard composite wheel material, and on a fixture that will sit loaded in one spot for weeks or months at a time while a shell is stripped, blasted and sprayed, hard wheels are what keep the rig rolling when you finally want to move it. Soft rubber casters under a long static load are the ones that flat-spot and then fight you.
Rotation and locking
The shell turns a full 360 degrees and a heavy-duty locking mechanism holds it at whatever angle you stop at. That is the entire point of a rotisserie: floor pan seam sealing, chassis rail welding, underbody blasting and rustproofing all become jobs done standing up, at chest height, in good light, instead of jobs done on your back with debris falling into your face. Any angle you can reach is an angle you can lock and then work at with both hands. A balancing system carries the shell so the rotation is controlled rather than something that gets away from you.
Fitting it to the car
Two adjustments do the fitting. The centre bar is a three-piece telescoping assembly that extends out to 21 feet 6 inches, which is what allows the same fixture to hold a short unibody shell and a long full-frame car. Four mounting arms, each 16", carry the attachment points and adjust to meet the mounting locations your particular shell offers — bumper mounts, frame horns or a fabricated bracket.
Working height adjusts through the two jacks over a range of 17.75" to 45.25". That range is doing real work: low for mounting the shell and rolling it in, high for standing underneath and welding. Set the height for the job and the posture rather than working around a fixed fixture.
Will it fit your shop?
A rotisserie needs a rectangle of clear, flat, level floor big enough for the fixture plus the swing of the shell at its widest point of rotation — the car is longer and wider when it is on its side than when it is on its wheels, and that swing is the dimension people underestimate. The overall dimensions in the specification table below are the fixture alone. Measure your bay for the fixture, the vehicle and the arc, then add walking room on both sides.
The floor matters as much as the space. Six casters concentrate a lot of weight into small contact patches; a smooth, sound slab keeps the rig rolling and stops a caster from dropping into an expansion joint under load. Ceiling height is the other check, since a shell rotated on its side stands considerably taller than it does on the ground.
No electrical supply and no shop air are required — the height adjustment is hydraulic and the rotation is mechanical. Site preparation, the floor condition and safe mounting of the vehicle to the fixture remain the customer's responsibility.
Perfect for
- Restoration shops doing bare-metal work, where underbody access is most of the labour on the job.
- Custom and hot rod builders fabricating and welding chassis and floor structure.
- Collision and rust-repair specialists replacing floor pans, rockers and rails.
- Serious home restorers with a long project, the floor space to give it and no compressed-air or electrical service in that corner of the building.
What comes with it
Published contents are the balancing system, two hydraulic jacks of 6,000 lb capacity each, four 16" mounting arms, the three-piece telescoping centre bar, six phenolic resin swivel casters and a powder-coated finish on the structure. Vehicle-specific mounting brackets are not listed in this model's data. Because bodyshell attachment differs so much between cars, please confirm with us in writing what mounting hardware ships with the fixture before you order, rather than assuming a bracket set for your particular vehicle is included.

Approvals: what our records actually say
The documentation we hold for this fixture makes no third-party safety-listing claim, and we are not going to imply one it does not support. This is a device that holds a vehicle body overhead and inverted, so if your insurer, your employer's equipment policy or a local inspector requires a particular listing before such a fixture goes on your floor, tell us which requirement applies and we will confirm in writing what the manufacturer can provide before you order.
Shipping and delivery
The CR-3000 ships as freight to the lower 48 states, with freight quoted live for your address at checkout rather than estimated in advance. Sort the unload out first: a forklift, a dock or adequate equipment and hands at your end, or terminal pickup if you would rather collect from the carrier. Residential delivery carries a residential fee, added at checkout when it applies, and warehouse pickup is available.
Inspect before you sign. Long fabricated assemblies take knocks in transit, so look along the length of the crate for bent members, punctures, crushed corners and slipped banding, and write anything you find on the bill of lading while the driver is present. A note there supports a claim; a clean signature works against you.
Warranty
Warranty is handled via our warranty claims page. Do not disassemble a jack, a lock mechanism or the rotation hardware before a claim is open — that is the most common reason a genuine claim gets declined. Photograph the fault, note the serial number, and contact us first.
