ProRep Hemp Bedding is a soft substrate perfect for snakes and tortoises, and is even suitable for small mammals such as hamsters and mice, as it is completely biodegradable, it is safe if consumed. Having bedding is a very important part of your reptile enclosure, as it encourages natural behaviour, such as burrowing and digging, and replicates a more natural environment that your reptile will favour. This bedding is made from the dried stem of the Hemp plant, and provides you with a dust and scent free substrate.
Directions for use: This substrate should be spread evenly over the bottom of your enclosure, at a depth of 1-2 inches (2.5-5cm) or more. This substrate needs to be replaced completely every 2-3 weeks, potentially more frequently if you notice it has become wet or heavily soiled, and spot-cleaning needs to be done daily. If you are using an under-tank heat mat as your source of heat, don't use a thick layer of this bedding, as it could potentially cause the heat mat to overheat, and it is recommended to refer to the heat mat manufacturer's instructions for more information before use.
