The Victron Energy BlueSolar MPPT 250/70-Tr VE.Can is a high-voltage commercial-grade solar charge controller with VE.Can network synchronization, ultrafast MPPT tracking, and an industry-leading 99% peak efficiency for large-scale 12V, 24V, and 48V solar installations requiring high PV string voltages.

- 250V High PV Input Voltage — Supports a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 250V, enabling longer solar string configurations and reduced wiring costs in large commercial arrays.
- VE.Can Multi-Controller Synchronization — Up to 25 units can be synchronized via VE.Can and daisy-chained to a Color Control GX for centralized monitoring and coordinated parallel charging.
- 99% Peak Conversion Efficiency — Fanless design exceeds 99% maximum efficiency, the highest in its class, with full rated output maintained up to 40°C.
- Advanced Partial Shading Detection — Proprietary BlueSolar algorithm scans the full power-voltage curve to always lock onto the optimum MPP, even when multiple peaks exist due to partial shading.
- Programmable Relay & Remote On/Off — DPST programmable relay trips on alarms or user-defined events, with a 2-pole remote on/off connector for VE.BUS BMS integration.
The BlueSolar MPPT 250/70-Tr VE.Can supports 12V, 24V, and 48V battery systems with automatic voltage detection, delivering 70A of rated charge current and handling up to 1,000W on 12V, 2,000W on 24V, and 4,000W on 48V systems. Its 250V maximum PV open circuit voltage sets it apart from standard 150V controllers, making it ideal for high-voltage string designs.
An internal temperature sensor automatically compensates absorption and float charge voltages, while optional external battery voltage, temperature, and current sensing is available via Bluetooth through a Smart Battery Sense, BMV-712, or SmartShunt using a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle. The optional pluggable SmartSolar LCD display can be added by simply removing the front rubber seal for on-unit monitoring and setup.
Comprehensive protection covers PV reverse polarity, PV reverse current, output short circuit, and over-temperature derating for dependable long-term commercial deployment. The IP43-rated blue enclosure operates up to 5,000m altitude across -30°C to +60°C and meets EN/IEC 62109-1, UL 1741, and CSA C22.2 safety certifications.
