The Oase ScaperLine Black Soil is an outstanding choice for planted aquariums and aquascapes. Made from volcanic ash and Kurobokudo, this active substrate lowers the hardness of the water, looks stunning and promotes terrific plant growth. By softening the water it creates a slightly acidic pH range that is favourable for most aquarium plants as it makes it easier for them to take in nutrients.

The active soil also absorbs nutrients from the water and releases them again when required. This buffer effect is ideal for long-lasting, sustained, healthy plant growth. The 2-4mm grain size of the Oase ScaperLine Black Soil is perfect for any sized aquascape and gives the plant roots a good firm hold. The soil grains are baked at lower temperatures and are agreeably robust but not too dense. The soil resists compaction to let roots grow freely through it in your aquascape.
